Millat FC ‘B’, Silver Linings & Bombay Gymkhana Colts snatches crucial wins

18th March 2018, Mumbai: Three MDFA games took place on 15th and 16th March 2018. On Thursday, Millat FC ‘B’ encountered Jolly Boys in Second Division while on Friday GKW Rangers faced Silver Linings in Second Division and Bombay Gymkhana met Blitz Kreiz at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Millat FC ‘B’, Bombay Gymkhana Colts and Silver Linings rose to the occasion to bag crucial wins in their respective divisions and groups.

Second Division: Group C – Millat FC ‘B’ (Saalik Khan 15′) 1-0 Jolly Boys

Millat FC continued their brilliant form to register a narrow 1-0 win over Jolly Boys at the St. Xavier’s Ground in the Second Division game. Saalik Khan’s 15th-minute goal was enough to give Millat their fifth win of the campaign. They are currently tied with Mumbai Rush Soccer for the first spot in Group C with 17 points in 8 games.

First Division: Group B – Bombay Gymkhana Colts (Jimmy Shokrekhoda 18′, 22′ & 51′) 3-1 Blitz Kreiz (Kaasif Siddqui)

In Group B of First Division, Bombay Gymkhana produced a fine performance to see off Blitz Kreiz 3-1 which helped them to secure an important win. Jimmy Shokrekhoda was on top of his form as he scored a fine hat-trick. Kaasif Siddiqui scored the lone goal for Blitz Kreiz.

Second Division: Group H – GKW Rangers 0-1 Silver Linings (Siby Anthony 45′)

In the Second Division game, under the floodlights, GKW Rangers fell short of snatching a draw as they lost out 1-0 against Silver Linings. It was Siby Anthony’s strike on the stroke of half-time which secured all three points for Silver Linings. GKW Rangers had their chances in the second half but they struggled to breach Silver Linings’ backline as they narrowly lost out.

This was Silver Linings’ sixth win and they are currently unbeaten in Group H with 20 points in 8 games while GKW Rangers are third from bottom with seven points in eight games.
