Elite Division: MS Police vs Mumbai Strikers

17th March 2018, Mumbai: Tomorrow evening, MS (Maharashtra State) Police will lock horns against Mumbai Strikers in an important MDFA Elite Division game at Cooperage Stadium. In the quest for survival, Mumbai Strikers need a win to ease off the pressure. They are currently at the bottom of the table with five points in eight games but the Strikers have played two games less than Kenkre FC and Century Rayon.

The newly-promoted side has won just once this season when they defeated Mumbai Customs 1-0. A win will help the Strikers to leapfrog both Kenkre FC and Century Rayon who have five and six points, respectively. Meanwhile, on the other hand, MS Police is lying in the seventh position with 11 points in nine games which looks enough to survive another season of Elite Division.

Both the sides would be heading towards the match on the back of a loss. MS Police suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Central Bank of India (CBI) while Mumbai Strikers lost to Union Bank of India (UBI) 2-0 on 28th February.

The duo of Hemket Dhembre and Akshay Pardhi is currently in a hot-form which might bother Mumbai Strikers’ backline while Sainath, Akshay Devadiga and Ravish would be gearing up to pick their side out of the relegation zone. A Strikers’ win will surely spice up the things as the battle for survival is becoming interesting day by day.
