Tarun Sporting Club crowned MDFA Second Division Champions, Colabaa Sports Academy finish third

Mumbai: Tarun Sporting Club thumped Rahul Mitra Mandal by 4-1 in the Second Division FINAL of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), held on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, at St Xavier’s ground, Parel.
A memorable day in the history of Tarun Sporting Club who reigned supreme in the all-important final. Tabish Mulla opened the scoring in the 16th minute for Tarun Sporting. And the score stayed the same until halftime.
Salim Shaikh doubled the lead in the 41st minute to make it 2-0. While Pravin Solanki made it 3-0 in the 45th minute.
Aniket Chavan pulled one back for Rahul Mitra Mandal in the 65th minute. But it was too late for a comeback. Abdul Dohadwalla netted the fourth for Tarun Sporting Club to put the icing on the cake. At full-time whistle, it was jubilation for Tarun Sporting Club who were crowned KINGS of the MDFA 2nd Division League 2016-17.

Colaba Sports Academy claimed the third spot by defeating Skorost United FC 3-0 in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), 2ND Division, the third-placed match held on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, at St Xavier’s ground, Parel.
Chitresh Tandel opened the scoring in the 4th minute while Vandan Meher doubled CSA’s lead in the 15th minute making it 2-0. Keval Pagdhare rounded off the scoring in the 60th minute to secure third place for Colaba Sports Academy.

It has been a long Second Division season. Congratulations to the entire staff and players from Tarun Sporting Club who were absolutely magnificent this season. For Rahul Mitra Mandal, the efforts are there to be seen and there will always be the next season to better this season’s results.
