Sahar Silver Star beat Jolly Boys, Charoter FC shut out Sporting Option

Mumbai: Sahar Silver Star beat local rivals Jolly Boys by 2-1 in their Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA), Second Division match held at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on Friday, March 31st, 2017.

A mouthwatering local derby was decided by an error from the Jolly Boys goalkeeper. Hassan Sayed opened the scoring for Sahar in the 10th minute. Rajeev Yadav equalised for Jolly Boys in the 17th minute of the 1st half. The battle remained close but both teams went into the break at 1-1.

The second half remained close until the 58th minute where the Jolly Boys goalkeeper failed to gather the ball and it fell to Wilbur D’Souza who made no mistake to put the ball in the back of the net thus giving Sahar Silver Star all three points.

The first game under the lights on Friday evening was dominated by Charoter initially and they made the possession count by going in front. No.15 Kartik Chouhan put them 1-0 ahead in the 19th minute. The first half ended with Charoter FC going in with a one-goal lead.

Much to their amazing efforts, Rahul Chouhan rounded up the scoring in the 70th minute going 2-0 up putting the game to bed and gaining all three points.
