Kenkre prove their mantle in a 3-0 win over PIFA
3rd January 2017, Mumbai: Kenkre FC registered a 3-0 thumping win over PIFA Colaba in their AIFF’s Under 18 I-League match at Cooperage Ground, Churchgate.
Kenkre FC dominated the play from the very first minute, as they continued to fancy their chances throughout the 90 minutes. The opening goal of the match came due to the courtesy of Klien Pinto’s lovely cross inside the box into Shimyu Sasikumar Manikkoth‘s path, who converted the chance to give his side the upper hand in the 18th minute.
Another goal in the 55th minute by Defender Shaunak Ghorpade, put Kenkre in complete control of the match. Ghorpade headed the ball powerfully in the far left post straight from the corner taken by Klien Pinto.
That wasn’t enough from the winning side as their substitute Yash Angre in the 88th minute guided a low pass in to the path of another substitute Krishna Vijayan, who scored to seal the victory.
With two games remaining Kenkre FC have now won two, drawn one and lost three in their U18 I-League fixtures. Whereas PIFA Colaba, on the other hand, are yet to grab a single point in this season’s I-league.
