Mumbai Port Trust thrash IDBI 6-3 in MDFA 1st Division clash

Pirie Gecif of Mumbai Port Trust

In a one-sided affair, Mumbai Port Trust thrashed IDBI 6-3 in a nine-goal thriller to register a memorable victory in their MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) First Division clash at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Monday evening.

Savio Rodrigues opened the scoring in the 6th minute of the game before Siddharth Koli made it 2-0 on the 17th minute. IDBI hit back hard as they scored two quick goals to level the score, courtesy of Roshan Navkar and Vishal Sonkar’s goals in the 30th and 32nd minute respectively.

Mumbai Port Trust had to wait just three minutes to take the lead again when Pirie Gecif made it 3-2. Rajesh Goswani scored a quick brace and Robin Maharo scored the sixth and the final goal to complete the rampage. IDBI did score their third goal through Roshan Navkar who netted a brace and also had a fine game for IDBI.

Mumbai Port Trust who came into this match continuing their fine run of form this season didn’t show any mercy to their counterparts as they proved lethal in front of the goal whenever they entered the final third. IDBI did put a fight when they leveled the score late in the first-half, but Mumbai Port Trust’s offensive superiority proved too good for IDBI’s backline,
