Mumbai FC rope in former India International Sushil Kumar Singh

I-league side Mumbai FC confirmed the signing of forward Sushil Kumar Singh on a season long from ISL side Atletico de Kolkata on Friday night(8th January). Sushil’s signing adds to an already impressive forward line consisting of Japanese Ryuki Kozawa, fan favorite Jayesh Rane and versatile Arata Izumi.
Sushil Kumar Singh brings pace to the Mumbai forward line and at times can also play in the hole behind the striker. His experience at top level added to that an eye for goals makes him a lethal weapon in the Mumbai FC squad. Throughout his domestic career Singh has represented a host of clubs starting with Mahindra United where he scored 8 goals in 11 games. He moved to East Bengal, later to Sikkim United for a season followed by Shillong Lajong before finally playing for division-II side Eagle Clubs on laon in 2013. Sushil Kumar Singh spent his last season at Dempo on loan before representing Atletico de Kolkata in the second edition of ISL.
His international accomplishments are impressive where he led the U-23 Indian team to silverware in the 2009 SAFF Cup Championship.
Adding to this are the AFC Challenge Cup in 2008, the Nehru Cup in 2009 and SAFF Cup in 2011. As mentioned before that Sushil Kumar Singh has an eye for goal, he was on target in the 2011 SAFF Cup final for team India.
Coach of Mumbai FC Khalid Jamil was quick to jump to the praises of the new addition where he described Singh as a player with high caliber. Adding to that is the hunger to score goals coupled with the pace he brings to the team. His experience will prove vital for Mumbai FC who aim to finish higher in the I-league this season.
The player himself is very delighted to be back to the city where it all started for him. Sushil is looking forward to a great season and has a lot of expectations from himself and the team.
