Mumbai FC are conducting open trials for its I-League 2016-17 first team

I-League outfit Mumbai Football Club has been shuffling packs for their upcoming league campaign. In June 2016, the club announced a new manager in-charge in Santosh Kashyap, who replaced Khalid Jamil. The club decided to end Jamil’s long-term relationship after a sluggish I-League season, where new signings barely made the impact Mumbai FC must have expected.
Meanwhile, search for a fresh start has seen the Mumbai club turn sites to their own city. Mumbai FC has decided to conduct open trials for its I-League 2016 -17 first team. It is for the first time in Mumbai FC history that the club is offering such a sensational opportunity for the ones already playing in the city of dreams.
This can also open the door for the players who are planning to choose football as a profession. There are hundreds of players in Mumbai who are playing their part in the MDFA football, but there comes a time when they have to stop playing the beautiful game due to the narrow scope. It’s a great initiative by the Yellow Submarine which should give their homegrown talents a massive platform to showcase themselves.
During the time of appointment, the club referred Santosh Kashyap’s “ability to nurture and develop young players” in their official statement. The trials will be a radical step as per Mumbai FC coach Santosh Kashyap, “This is a first time that an equal opportunity will be available to all talent to exhibit their skills and earn a shot at playing for our historic city in the I-League. It will be about the boys realizing their potential. We are constantly on the lookout for talented young players.”
The club has been quite vocal about its supporters group Yellow Brigade. “We are proud to represent the Yellow Brigade of Mumbai and hope to take Mumbai to the pinnacle of Indian football,” mentioned Kashyap. The club will organise trails starting from 23rd September, 2016 at Cooperage Ground starting at 7:30 a.m. The player should be at least 20 years or above and should have played in the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) Elite Division or better.
Trial Dates:
Friday – September 23rd, 2016 (7.30 a.m. reporting time)
Saturday – September 24th, 2016 (3.30 p.m. reporting time)
Sunday – September 25th, 2016 (3.30 p.m. reporting time)
