Vikhrolians see off Koli FC to go through
Koli F.C fail Vikhrolians test 2-1 in the 3rd Division Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) Qualifying match held at Xavier’s Ground ‘Parel’ on the Sunday afternoon.
Vikhrolians earned a penalty kick in the 3rd minute which Karan Asher easily converted in a goal. Which helped Vikhrolians virtually commanded the field in the initial 15 minutes of the game, enjoying most part of the ball possession.
But their opponents Koli F.C. we’re no easy competitors and got even after a minute long effort to pass the Vikhrolians defense and custodian Nihal Trivedi, Vaibhav put the ball in from Midfield and Ganesh tapped the ball for the all important equalizer.
The first leg ended with Confusion over a offside which could have changed the game for Koli F.C.
Prateek the Koli F.C. goalkeeper used his height to great advantage with spectacular saves and punches to avoid the ball from entering the goal but even he couldn’t stop Somesh Tawade’s perfect free kick.
Koli F.C. didnt lose hope but as the last corner kick of the game was taken, the fate was sealed Vikhrolians had won 2-1.
