Professional Mumbai F.C U-17 dispatch Swami Vivekanand

Mumbai F.C U-17 eased passed Swami Vivekananda by 2-0 in the 3rd division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 9 May 2015. Both the teams were extremely competitive in the first half, making it a spectacular game.

Mumbai F.C showed their abilities in the first half as they made several attempts to score and were mostly solid at the back.

From the kick off itself, Mumbai F.C controlled the possession in the game as they opened the scoring in the 8th minute when Calvin Baretto fired home from corner. Sanath Valladares’ floating cross to Calvin Baretto was controlled well and curled home neatly to give Mumbai FC a 1-0 lead.

5 minutes later Swami Vivekananda’s Hardik Gurung crossed at Parag Jain. Parag Jain failed to carry the ball and his eventual shot was off the taget. It was a good chance for Swami Vivekananda to get back on level terms.
Swami Vivekananda’s Goalkeeper’s efforts helped them to prevent conceding another goal in the 18th minute which was headed wide by Mumbai F.C’s Kishan Dubey from a corner kick.

The first half ended with Mumbai F.C leading and showing their supremacy.
The second half saw no turns in fortunes for Swami Vivekananda as they failed to mount any sort of comeback.

Swami Vivekananda continued to be under pressure after they failed to maintain composure while trying to convert their already meager chances. In the 30th minute Ashley Francis got a good chance to open their scoring but his shot went over the crossbar. There was no player to whom he could give a pass and hence he decided to shoot as the shot sailed over

The duo Harsh Solanki and Cyrus Karbhari were instrumental in creating Mumbai FC’s second goal in 40th minute. Harsh Solanki perfectly showed his skills and gave a killer pass to Cyrus Karbhari who headed it into the goal. It was a swift move performed by them to wrong foot the goalkeeper and double their advantage.

5 minutes later Swami Vivekananda‘s Akash Vidyasagar shot rattled the goalpost and went outside the field. Akash Vidyasagar got a pass from Kamran Siddiqui from left wing which he shot from 6 yards towards the goal.

With the full time whistle the game ended with Mumbai F.C U-17 winning 2-0. Swami Vivekananda showed a spectacular performance against Mumbai FC despite playing their second game in as many days after beating Hedgewar Boys on 08 May 2015. Hardik Gurung alone had bagged two goals in the earlier match.
