On day 2 of Rustomjee Go Green, Under- 17’s and 14’s continue to impress

The second day of the Rustomjee Go Green Cup organized by Kenkre FC was yet again action packed with more of quality football to be witness at the Don Bosco Grounds, Matunga.

Under- 17

There were three matches scheduled in this category and it all started with Eagles FC taking on the Parasites, and the latter handed on a 6 goal drubbing for the win. Amey Ranavde, Advait Shinde and Shimyu Mannikoth each got 2 goals registered against their name.

Orange Bleeders defeated K- Greens with 2 goals to nil in the second fixture with Ancel Andrews and Sanat Valladeres scoring one a piece.

The third Under- 17 match also the last of the day witnessed Spartans facing off against Kentaurians FC which they won 3-0 thanks to a hatrick of strikes from Ishan.

Under- 14

This age category was power packed, with 8 matches lined up. Out of these, the very first one concluded even before starting as Scottish 10 got a walkover Dadar FC B.

Then, the A team of Dadar FC were pitted against Don Bosco Green which they effectively won 3-0 despite missing a penalty, with Shubham Chippa scoring two and Ojas Bhate, one.

Next on, the Galaxy Boyz A hammered Grizzlies for a 7 goal defeat. Hriday Parekh and Monty, both scored two goals while the trio of Om Raut, Shaurya and Arya, each knicked in one.

Scottish 10 who were coming off a walkover now faced  Don Bosco Blue and they were unable to carry on their lucky streak ahead as the lost the match courtesy a solitary goal by Dwayne Pereira.

On the back of a loss, Grizzlies next faced the Black Stud’s only to lose again and this time 3-1. Nikhil got the only goal for the for the Grizzlies while in reply Hrushik Jain, Param Dave and Rahul Mehta got one each!

Panthers vs St. Joseph ended at 0-3 with Twain Fernandes getting his goal on a free kick, Samad Patel scoring with a header and Divyansh putting in the final one for his team.

The 7th match of this category was to be played out between Real Mumbai and Galaxy Boyz A and yet again Galaxy did emerge as the stronger force with the scoreline 0-2 in their favour. Om and Ethan had ridden their team to victory in this encounter.

The last fixture of this age category had the Black Stud’s in opposition to the Red Devils who won 0-3! Strikes from Midhwan Kyal, Bhuveer Kodnani and Gaurav Makhija ensured the victory for the Red’s.

As the day came to a close; it was evident that the spirit, vigour and energy of the teams will continue to sparkle in a similar fashion as the tournament progresses.
