Naaz United prevail in a six goal thriller against Yash Warriors

In an highly dramatic fixture at Back Garden (Colaba), Mumbai, Naaz United defeated Yash Warriors 4-2 in the Colaba Super League which proved to be a nail biting match. A total of six goals were scored in sixty minutes of a neck to neck clash which made the local fans to sit on the edge of their seat for majority of the match.

Early in the first half, midfielder Lakhan Lokhande scored a beautiful team goal, making it 1-0 for Naaz United. The goal made Yash Warriors manager furious, but things got worse for Yash Warriors as Naaz United attacker Rashid Shaikh scored his first and Naaz United’s second goal of the game. A long ball from defence got past through couple of Yash Warriors defenders and landed into Rashid’s path, who made no mistake and nestled it past the keeper.

Just before the first half ended, Yash Warriors’ key player, Tejas Rawat curled the ball from his left foot which went into top left corner, making the scoreline 1-2 for Yash Warriors and giving them a sigh relief.

The second half was much of a physical battle where both the set of players were giving their all to snatch back the possession, leading it to an intense half. Yash Warriors had chance to equalize early in the second half but Prathamesh Kasare missed a glorious chance through a free kick when the ball got sailing over the bar.

Soon, Yash Warriors started to dominate who were looking for an equalizer but the fate was not in their hands as Tejas Rawat missed a very easy chance from inside the box.

Naaz United’s defender Balram Patil fouled Tejas Rawat outside the box leading the referee to book him. The match got more intense as referee booked Naaz United’s goalkeeper Manish Shetty for time wasting, it was clear that they don’t want the lead to get snatched away by Yash Warriors.

Moments later, Rashid Shaikh scored from a beautiful free kick which made the score 3-1 for Naaz United, now they only had to defend for their lives and avoid costly errors. Naaz United goalkeeper, Manish Shetty, saved a brilliant strike from Prathamesh Kasare, showing some beautiful reflexes, Manish jumped as high as he can and tipped the ball over the bar.

With less than six minutes left, Yash Warrior got penalty when Naaz United’s defender Walter Liu handled the ball inside the box, also for dissent, Naaz United’s Balram Patil got sent off after receiving his second yellow card of the game.

Tejas Rawat scored from the spot and made the score 3-2, and with only few minutes left, Yash Warriors had to give their all to take the match to a penalty shootout. But there was more to come, attempting to score the equalizer, Yash Warriors got dispossessed and Naaz United’s Ganesh Tandel scored on counter attack and made the score 4-2 which made it out of reach for Yash Warriors.

The referee blew the whistle moments later and it was Naaz United who came out on top with an astounding win over Yash Warriors.
