Late Hardik strike for Swami Vivekanand breaks Hedgewar Boys hearts

Swami Vivekananda defeated Hedgewar Boys by 2-1in the 3rd division match of M.D.F.A. (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 8th May 2015
The first half was quite dull as there were very few chances for both the teams to score. The chances came mostly from set pieces.
Swami Vivekananda’s Parag Jain got a good chance in the 6th minute when he skipped many players and shot at Hardik Gurung. Hardik G. failed to tap in the shot and missed an important chance to score.
Swami Vivekananda’s Arun V failed to take his chance in the 13th minute from the corner kick shot by Hardik Gurung. Hardik G. gave a good ball to Arun V who with his efforts tried to score but he failed to shoot it on the target.
3 minutes later Swami Vivekananda’s Hardik G. scored the first goal from a free kick by Sarveh T. He skipped past many players after receiving the pass and he shot straight on target. It well directed goal by Hardik G.
Hedgewar Boy’s Granville Lewis tried shooting from a free kick. His shot was well directed towards the goal but opponent teams left winger dived in and made a crucial block.
The first half ended with Swami Vivekananda in the lead and looked the likelier of the two sides to score.
During the second half Hedgewar Boys tried their best to create attempts to score. The second half saw chances for both the teams in form of free kicks.
In the 31st minute Swami Vivekananda got a free kick on the Half line. The striker shot it towards Sarvesh T. who failed to keep his shot on target and the chance was gone for Swami Vivekanand. It was a chance to score if he had controlled the ball well before shooting
In the 42nd minute Hedgewar Boy’s Ronaldo got chance to score as he skipped many players and shot but Akash V gave a sliding tackle and directed the ball outside the field.
3 minutes later Swami Vivekananda’s Harsh Mistry controlled the ball which he dribbled it from half line. His efforts were caught by goalkeeper as it was a very weak shot and goalkeeper saved it from entering the goal.
It was in the 48th minute when Hedgewar Boys were able to break the defense and equalize their score thanks to Anmol Pathak’s efforts they equalized their score at 1-1
As he game headed towards the end it seemed that the game will end with 1-1 draw when Swami Vivekananda’s Hardik G got a ball and ran towards the goal and fired home in the 52nd minute. The Hedgewar Boys goalkeeper came forward to collect the ball and Hardik G skipped phim and shot on target.
The game ended with disappointment for Hedgewar Boys after coming so close to snatching the victory but with Hardik G’s late effort Swami Vivekanand were able to celebrate a last gasp victory
