Determined Income Tax Overshadow Juhu Sparks FC with 7-3 Win

As the Super Division of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) came to an end amid a fierce match held in the Xavier’s ground ‘Parel’ on 12th April, 2015.

Income tax won it by 7 goals against Juhu Sparks FC managing to score 3 goals in return.

The match was important for Income Tax to climb up the table and take the 3rd place and subsequently the opening goal was scored in the second minute itself by Camillio Naronha.

Juhu Sparks FC tried to ward off the pressure with short crisp passes and this helped Mahesh of Juhu Sparks FC equalize the score to 1-1.

Income Tax scored their second goal in the 35th minute when Madan Takalikar placed the ball in the bottom left corner with no Juhu Sparks defenders to mark him.

4 minutes later, Juhu Sparks again caught up with Income Tax, when Robert Kunnel trapped the ball and stole a glance at the goal post and kicked it precisely and Goal!

Lokendra Swar aimed at goal but it was punched away by Manoj Upadhyay, the Juhu Sparks goalkeeper and it again reached his legs and this time he didn’t make error and Income Tax were again in the lead 3-2 and also ending the first half.

Income Tax looked more determined to win the game in the second half and were attacking repeatedly and the 52nd minute goal by Raj Trivedi, a header made the win more evident. Later, Prathamesh Porwal scored the 5th and 6th goals in the 64th and 70th minute respectively.

After being crushed ruthlessly, Juhu Sparks FC’s Zico Gonsalves scored in the 81st minute taking the score up to reputable 6-3.

The 7th and last goal came in the 85th minute when Raj Trivedi scored again for his team when he chipped the ball over Manoj Upadhyay and went on to control the ball and finish it in style.

As the final whistle blew, Income Tax were in celebration mode with Raj Trivedi and Prathamesh Porwal scoring two goal each and Income Tax having successfully secured the third position in the Super Division League 2014-15.
