Campions High School were crowned the MSSA U-16 Boys 1st Division Champions against Don Bosco Matunga

Campions High School were crowned the MSSA U-16 Boys 1st Division Champions against Don Bosco Matunga after a 4-3 win on penalties in the Finals held at Cooperage Ground on 18th August.

Don Bosco ‘Matunga’ strikers were attacking Campion goal from the very first minute of the game.

Campions strikers, Rayan Badheka and Aditya Agarwal got back at Don Bosco though with their solo runs towards the goal which got intercepted as the Don Bosco defense was alert.

It was two MSSA giants battling it out on the field and a controversial decision was made in the 56th minute of the game when referee denied Don Bosco a penalty after Atharva Ghatkar was fouled by the Campion keeper in the Campions penalty box. The Refree, Cajetan Dias, whistled and then waved off penalty for a free-kick.

By the end of added time, both the teams had failed to score and the match went into penalty shootouts. Malav Fozdar , Joshua Machado , Sanay Doshi , Jay Maliye scored in the Penalties for the Campions while Flynn D’cruz , Clivert Miller , Fabian Anthony scored for Don Bosco Matunga.

Campions Principal, Father Paul Machedo declared a holiday for the students and expressed the win as a, “Great feeling.”

It was great to witness the parents of Campions Students who came in large numbers to cheer for their team wearing Red clothes matching their teams jersey and formed a jubiliant crowd as they cheered everytime a Campion player dribbled or made a fantastic pass and celebreated as their team lifted the MSSA U-16 Cup.
