Hansraj Moraji clinch their maiden U-16 2nd Division title after edging out Don Bosco Borivali

Hansraj Moraji Public School ‘Andheri’ clinched their first ever MSSA U-16 Boys 2nd Division title as they beat Don Bosco, Borivali in the Finals held at Cooperage on 18th August.
In the opening minutes of the game, Hansraj Moraji’s trio of strikers Kamran Siddique, Abhishek Valiyakath, Hrithik Chavan were leading the attack on Don Bosco, their attempts were fruitful as they got the required result soon after in the 13th minute with Kamran netting the opening goal.
Meanwhile, Hansraj Moraji continued attacking the Don Bosco side and Abhishek Valiyakath got fouled inside the box as he tried to sneak in and won his team a penalty. Kamran took the penalty kick and made no errors as Hansraj Moraji were able to double the Lead before the end of First half.
Don Bosco team hit back with a late first half goal as Ethan Rozario scored from a corner kick and make it a half time score of 2-1 to Hansraj Morarji
Don Bosco made the all needed substitution in the second half as the tired Kunal Mayekar was replaced by Wencelans Rebello which hugely impacted their team’s performance in the second leg of the game.
On the other hand, Moraji were also under pressure not to concede any goals as an equalizer would have meant the outcome be decided via a penalty shootout which they were able to prevent.
As the full time whistle blew, time had ran out for Don Bosco ‘Borivali’ and lost out to Hansraj Moraji Public School ‘Andheri’ 2-1 with all the goals coming in the first half with Kamran scoring twice making his total goals scored in this season being 5.
While his teammate, Abhishek Valiyakath became the top scorer in the MSSA U-16 having scored 10 goals in the entire tournament.
