Aasim Ansari’s brace powers Milan A.C.D through to the next round

Milan A.C.D’s teamwork and sincere efforts helped them to a 2-0 win against Shri Ganesh S.M in the 3rd division match of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) at St Xavier’s ground, Parel on 15th July 2015.

In the 8th minute Shri Ganesh S.M failed to score from a corner kick when Vivek G shot towards the goal but it hit the cross bar and rebounded. It was a good shot by Vivek G. but he was unfortunate not to put his team in front.

In the 13TH minute Shri Ganesh S.M’s Mandar Padhare got a pass from Mayur Tamore. Mandar Padhare controlled the ball. He ran along with the ball towards the goal but he lost control and opponent player was able to clear. It was a good play from both the players.

2 minutes before the half time Shri Ganesh S.M’s left winger shot from close range towards the goal but Milan A.C.D’s goalkeeper dived to his left to make a save. It was a very good save made by the goalkeeper preventing Shri Ganesh S.M to hit the front in the game.

The first half ended goalless and it seemed that the game would end with no goals.

In the second half, Milan A.C.D’s Ansari Aasim changed the course of the game when he scored in the 22nd minute. He opened the scoring for Milan A.C.D when he grabbed the loose ball as the opponent player failed to control it. Ansari Aasim aptly squeezed the ball through the goalkeeper’s leg to put Milan A.C.D ahead.

Even though Milan A.C.D were the first one to score Shri Ganesh S.M had the maximum chances to score but hey failed to score as they failed to control the ball and pass to the right person.

In the 31st minute Ansari Aasim scored another goal for Milan A.C.D. He got a pass from right wing as he dribbled the ball towards the goal and fired home.

3 minutes before the stoppage time Shri Ganesh S.M’s Ashit S crossed to Vivek G. Vivek G. ran along with the ball towards the goal and tried shooting from 6 yards but he missed. His shot went in the wrong direction.

The game ended with disappointment for Shri Ganesh S.M as they had plenty of chances to score but they missed all of them. On the other hand Milan A.C.D were clinical in front of goal and that made the difference in the end.
