As the Mumbai Super League 2025–26 heads into its decisive stretch, no group is delivering drama quite like Group B. While the other groups already have at least one team safely through to the playoffs, this one is still wide open.

Three strong contenders – Charkop FC, Young Guns FC, and Somaiya FC – are battling it out for just two playoff spots, and every point from here on could make or break a season.

With margins razor-thin and pressure at its peak, the coming matches are less about talent and more about composure, discipline, and handling the moment.

Charkop FC: On Top, but Not Comfortable

Charkop FC may be leading the group, but their position is far from secure. Sitting on 24 points from 10 matches after eight wins and two losses, they’ve done most things right – yet the timing hasn’t worked entirely in their favor.

With only one game left, a must-win clash against India Rush, Charkop don’t have full control over their fate. A win would take them to 27 points, widely seen as the safety mark for qualification. But even then, they’ll be keeping a close eye on other results.

The key fixture for them? Young Guns FC vs Somaiya FC. They want Somaiya FC to defeat Young Guns FC. Else a draw there could complicate things significantly.

Young Guns FC: Momentum at the Perfect Time

Few teams in the league have shown the kind of turnaround that Young Guns FC have this season. After losing their opening game to Charkop, they’ve been near flawless – rattling off eight straight wins and building serious momentum.

Their numbers tell the story: 35 goals scored, just 2 conceded, and 24 points with two matches still to play. The equation is simple for the Young Guns – four more points from their remaining six points will guarantee a playoff spot. The remaining two Matches are against Somaiya FC and India Rush which will test whether their incredible run can hold up under the weight of expectations.

Somaiya FC: Unbeaten and in Control – For Now

If there’s one team keeping everyone guessing, it’s Somaiya FC. The only unbeaten side in Group B, they’ve quietly put together an impressive campaign so far. After opening with a draw, they’ve gone on a seven-game winning streak, collecting 22 points from just eight matches.

The advantage for somaiya here? Games in hand. The downside? A packed and demanding schedule.

Somaiya still have three matches to play – against Soccer XI (December 26), Young Guns FC, and Rudra FC. Five points from those nine available would be enough to book their playoff ticket. But a stumble in the any of the game could quickly turn comfort into pressure.

Across the league, 27 points is shaping up to be the magic number for Group B. Both Somaiya FC and Young Guns FC are well placed to reach it, while Charkop FC may need help from elsewhere even if they do their job.

One thing is certain: the showdown between Young Guns and Somaiya could end up feeling like a group-stage final. With qualification on the line and no room for mistakes, Group B is set for a thrilling finish.

The Mumbai Super League 2025-26 season is reaching a fever pitch as the Group A fixtures draw to a close. While Offshots FC has already etched their name into the playoff bracket with a sublime run of form, the second qualification spot remains a high-stakes tug-of-war.

The atmosphere at the Neville D’Souza Ground will be electric, as the chasing pack of Brothers WA, Navanagar FC, and Skorost United FC enter their final fixtures knowing that a single slip-up could extinguish their post-season dreams.

Offshots FC has been the undisputed gold standard of the campaign, maintaining a flawless nine wins from nine games. Their offensive approach are staggering; they have netted 48 goals while conceding a mere eight, averaging an incredible 5.3 goals per match. Although their ticket to the playoffs is already punched, they remain the ultimate kingmakers. Their remaining fixtures against the top contenders will likely dictate the final trajectory of the group, as they look to maintain their unblemished streak heading into the next stages.

Currently occupying the coveted second spot is Brothers WA, who have 22 points from their nine outings. With seven wins and a draw, their destiny remains largely in their own hands, yet they find themselves in a tight corner with only two games left to play. To guarantee direct qualification for the playoffs, Brothers WA need to secure at least four points from their final six available. Their upcoming clash against the juggernaut Offshots FC on December 26th looms as their biggest test of the season, followed by a final fixture against Ratnam. For the Brothers, the formula is simple but grueling: they must find a way to take points off the leaders to keep their playoff hopes from depending on external results.

Sitting in third place with 19 points from nine games, Navanagar FC is far from out of the race but requires a combination of clinical finishing and a bit of help. Their path to qualification is clear: they must win both of their remaining matches—including a daunting encounter with Offshots—to reach a maximum of 25 points. Their strategy relies heavily on a Brothers WA stumble; if Brothers lose one of their final two games and Navanagar secures their wins, both would finish on 25 points. In this specific scenario, Navanagar would qualify by virtue of their superior head-to-head record, having defeated Brothers 2-1 earlier in the group stage.

The most intriguing scenario involves Skorost United FC, who currently sit on 16 points but crucially hold a game in hand over their rivals. With three matches remaining against Mumbai Warriors, Salsette FC, and Navanagar FC, they have the potential to reach the 25-point mark. Should they achieve a clean sweep and Brothers WA fail to win both of their matches, Skorost could potentially leapfrog into the second spot. Since their earlier meeting with Brothers resulted in a 2-2 draw, the qualification would then be decided by Goal Difference (GD). Currently, Skorost holds a +4 GD advantage over Brothers, making every goal they score in their final three matches precious.

The next two weeks will provide a definitive answer to the Group A puzzle, with the pressure reaching an inevitable peak. Crucial dates to watch include Navanagar FC vs. Offshots FC on December 23rd, followed by the blockbuster Brothers WA vs. Offshots FC on December 26th.

Stay tuned to Football Counter for continuous coverage as the final playoff picture of the Mumbai Super League emerges.

The Mumbai Super League has been nothing short of electrifying at the Neville D’souza Ground, with teams serving up drama, dominance, and plenty of goals. The latest round of fixtures showcased not only emphatic scorelines but also the hunger and intent of clubs looking to establish themselves in the competition.

Mumbai Dynamos FC opened with a statement 3-1 win over Regal SF, dictating possession and showing their sharpness in front of goal. Salsette FC followed with a professional performance, securing a 3-0 victory against Mumbai Marines SC, where their pressing game and efficient finishing proved decisive. The day, however, belonged to Navanagar FC, who dismantled Ratnam FC in a one-sided 6-0 triumph, their relentless attacking play leaving the opposition with no answers.

Spartans FC kept up the momentum with a commanding 4-0 win over Rudra FC – JBU, dominating the midfield and keeping their defense untested for large stretches. Bombay Muslims SC had to dig deep in a thrilling contest, eventually edging Tarun Sporting FC 3-2 after both sides traded blows in an open game. Charkop FC delivered the most ruthless performance of that round, storming to an 8-0 demolition of Symbians FC, a result that firmly established them as one of the league’s attacking heavyweights.

The fixtures also produced moments of balance. Skorost Utd FC and Brothers Football WA fought out a spirited 2-2 draw, with both teams refusing to back down in a game of shifting momentum. For Young Guns India, though, the script was entirely different as they showcased pace and precision in a 6-0 rout of Millat FC, a performance that sent a strong warning to future opponents.

Iron Born followed with a clinical display, blending solid defensive organization with swift counterattacks in their 4-1 victory over Colaba FC. The round’s most explosive result, however, came from Somaiya FC, who ran riot with a stunning 7-0 win over India Rush Soccer Club. From the first whistle, Somaiya pressed high, attacked in waves, and put on a display that not only thrilled their supporters but also sent shockwaves across the league.

What’s clear from this round of fixtures is that the Mumbai Super League is brimming with stories — from teams grinding out narrow wins to those producing statement performances. The league’s unpredictability and intensity continue to capture the imagination, with Neville D’souza Ground turning into a stage where reputations are being built, challenged, and sometimes dismantled.

In a thrilling Mumbai Super League encounter, Mumbai Dynamos showcased grit, control, and attacking flair to overturn a first-half setback and secure a memorable 3-1 comeback victory over Regal SF.

From the opening whistle, the Dynamos stamped their authority on the game, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities. Their fluid passing and constant pressure had Regal SF on the back foot, but despite their control, it was Regal who took the lead against the run of play.

Midway through the first half, a rare break from Regal SF saw them earn a penalty after a moment of indecision in the Dynamos’ defense. Shubham stepped up calmly and slotted home the spot-kick to give Regal SF a 1-0 lead, a scoreline that held until the halftime whistle.

Despite the setback, Mumbai Dynamos returned to the pitch with renewed intensity and focus. Their perseverance paid off early in the second half when Raj Sanghrajka found the back of the net with a powerful header to level the game at 1-1.

With momentum on their side, the Dynamos continued to press, and it wasn’t long before they completed the turnaround. Om Chaurasia, converted to make it 2-1 for the home side.

As Regal SF pushed forward in search of an equalizer, spaces opened up at the back, and the Dynamos were quick to capitalize. In the dying minutes of the match, Raj Sanghrajka struck again, this time with a composed finish that sealed the result and completed a well-deserved brace.

The final whistle blew with Mumbai Dynamos celebrating a commanding 3-1 victory, having not only dominated possession and shots on goal but also shown tremendous resilience to come back from behind.

With this result, Mumbai Dynamos continue to assert themselves as serious contenders in the Mumbai Super League, while Regal SF will be left to reflect on what might have been after a promising start.

The MFA Super Division has been a spectacular showcase of goals, grit, and drama over the past stretch of matches. From dominant victories to hard-fought wins, every team has left its mark, but two sides in particular, Somaiya FC and Young Guns India, stole the spotlight with results that left fans and rivals alike in awe.

Somaiya FC made a statement with a crushing 5–0 triumph over JMJ Sports Club, a win that highlighted their attacking precision and defensive solidity. Young Guns India, meanwhile, ran riot in a staggering 12–1 demolition of Regal SF, proving that when their firepower is unleashed, few can contain them. Offshots FC also announced themselves emphatically with a 9–1 win over Salsette FC, while Bombay Muslims SC combined sharp finishing with disciplined defending to secure a 3–0 victory over Don Bosco FC (Oratory).

West Zone United continued their rise, asserting themselves with a 3–0 win over Spartans FC and following it up with a 3–1 victory against Mumbai Strikers, demonstrating tactical maturity and consistency. ROQS FC showed resilience across their fixtures, earning a 3–1 win over KSA Juniors and a thrilling 2–2 draw with CFCI, proving their ability to compete even in tight matches. Tarun Sporting quietly maintained their position with a 2–0 win over Oscar Foundation, underscoring their disciplined approach.

The league’s narrative wasn’t only about runaway victories. Young Guns (Bandra) secured a 3–1 win over Rudra FC – JBU, while Urban Force edged Navanagar FC 2–1 in a closely contested clash. Millat FC and Kopana FC played out a 1–1 stalemate, and Charkop FC narrowly overcame Young Guns F.C. (Bandra) 1–0, emphasizing the intensity of mid-table battles. Youth teams brought their own excitement, with Iron Born edging Kenkre SC U-19 3–2 and ICL U-19 dominating India Rush Soccer Club 3–0. Bombay YMCA also impressed, claiming a 3–1 win against ICL Youngstars FC, while Yawn F.C. managed a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Soccer Saga FC.

Standout performers this period include Somaiya FC, Young Guns India, Offshots FC, West Zone United, Bombay Muslims SC, and Tarun Sporting. These sides combined attacking flair, consistency, and tactical intelligence, earning results that put them at the top of everyone’s radar. On the other end, teams like JMJ Sports Club, Regal SF, Salsette FC, Colaba FC, and Mumbai Strikers struggled to maintain form, with heavy defeats, defensive lapses, and missed opportunities highlighting areas for improvement.

What stands out across these fixtures is the incredible diversity of results. Some teams hammered their opponents with emphatic scorelines, others scraped through narrow wins, and a few clung to draws to stay afloat. The MFA Super Division continues to prove that no match is straightforward, with momentum and confidence swinging week to week. As teams prepare for the next phase, the mix of contenders and strugglers promises even more excitement, drama, and football that keeps fans on the edge of their seats.

The Mumbai Super Division League 2025–26 has kicked off in thrilling fashion, with several matches already producing emphatic scorelines, close encounters, and standout individual performances. As the competition intensifies, fans are witnessing the rise of new contenders and the resurgence of seasoned clubs.

Early Statement Wins & Goal Fests

FSI opened their campaign in ruthless fashion, dismantling Urban Force with a dominating 9-0 win on August 20th. However, their momentum was abruptly halted as OFFshots FC were awarded a 3-0 win later in the week, a shocking turn for one of the early pacesetters.

Similarly, Oscar Foundation delivered a commanding 4-0 win over Millat FC on August 25, showcasing their attacking intent. Anstrengung United followed suit on the same day with a dominant 5-0 result against Pillai Salsette FC, asserting themselves as a team to watch this season.

Mumbai Dynamos, after narrowly losing 2-1 to Kopana FC in their opener (with Skyler Serrao on the scoresheet), bounced back with a statement 5-0 win over Millat FC, featuring goals from Mithran Puri, Serrao, Ranvir Malik, and Tanish Gada.

Close Contests & Tactical Battles

In contrast to the blowouts, several matches have been tightly contested. Kopana FC’s 2-1 win over Mumbai Dynamos was a showcase of resilience, with Rohan Giri and Tushar Bosale scoring either side of Serrao’s equalizer.

Symbians and Soccer 11 played out a tense affair, with Soccer 11 edging out a 2-1 win thanks to a solid team performance. Mumbai Strikers SC and Somaiya FC also couldn’t be separated in a cagey 0-0 draw, one of the few goalless games so far.

Breakout Performers & Goal Scorers

A number of individuals have already begun to make their mark on the league. Skyler Serrao of Mumbai Dynamos has scored three goals in two matches, emerging as a potent attacking threat. Kaif Ansari shone in Bombay YMCA’s 5-2 victory over KSA, scoring a brace, while teammates Saad Shaikh, Ayub Qureshi, and Abdul Azizkhatri also got on the scoresheet in a clinical display.

Kartik Bele of JMJ Sports Club calmly converted a 64th-minute penalty to seal a narrow 1-0 win over ICL U-19, demonstrating composure under pressure.

Mid-Table Jostling & Surprises

Soccer Saga FC edged past Regal SF 1-0, thanks to a goal from Omkar Walawande, while United City FC secured a solid 2-0 win over Colaba FC in which Brett Rodrigues contributing to the scoresheet as well as assisting one.

Brothers WA edged out United Villagers Wel. A in a high-scoring 3-2 contest, indicating the team’s offensive strength.

In a turnaround of fortunes, Urban Force, who suffered a 9-0 defeat early on, bounced back with a 3-0 win over United Villagers WA, showcasing their bounce back ability.

Looking Ahead

With many matches still to be played, the Mumbai Super Division League 2025–26 is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent years. Teams like FSI, Oscar Foundation, Anstrengung United, and Mumbai Dynamos have shown their scoring prowess, while clubs like Kopana FC, Soccer 11, and JMJ Sports Club are quietly accumulating crucial points.

As the fixtures continue, fans can expect more drama, unexpected upsets, and players staking their claim as the next stars of Mumbai football.

The countdown to the much-awaited Mumbai Football Season 2025-26 has officially begun, following the announcement of the tentative group stage draw for the Mumbai Super League.

A total of 46 teams will battle for the prestige and pride of promotion to the top tier of Mumbai’s football, the Mumbai Premier League.

In a candid interview, Coach Ashutosh Rathod shares about the team’s belief and relentless work ethic that fueled Mumbai Soccer Prodigies’ (MSP) title win in Mumbai Super League

From setting their sights on the championship from day one to navigating the pressures of a nail-biting final day, MSP’s story is one of Self belief and commitment.

“It really feels great,” Rathod expressed, reflecting on the team’s achievement. “We had decided this season we will play only and only for the title.” This singular focus, he believes, was the key to their success. Unlike teams who often settle for playoff spots, MSP aimed higher and achieved greater.

The team’s ability to thrive under pressure was a crucial factor in their victory. Rathod emphasized his role in alleviating the pressure on his players, reminding them of their potential and the hard work they had put in. “I feel if something is important to you, you will feel some pressure at all times for achieving that, it will always be there, and we need to figure our different methods to work around it,” he explained.

A pivotal moment in MSP’s campaign was the strategic strengthening of their defense with the signings of Nitesh Aswani and Prithvi ahead of the playoffs. Rathod acknowledged their crucial role, stating, “To put it in simple words, we wouldn’t win this title without this defense.” He highlighted Nitesh’s leadership and Prithvi’s aerial dominance, both of which proved vital in the crucial final matches.

Captain Deep Moorjani also played a significant role, embodying the team’s spirit both on and off the field. Rathod praised his leadership and work ethic, saying, “He was the one who has led players on and off the field.”

The team’s attacking prowess was spearheaded by Nihal Colaco, who had an incredible season, culminating in the Best Forward award. Rathod, while acknowledging Nihal’s talent, believes the striker has even greater potential. “I believe in Nihal, and trust me when I say this, we haven’t seen his best yet,” he stated.

In a poetic twist, MSP’s journey began and ended with Brothers WA, a fitting full-circle moment. Rathod, however, remained confident throughout, stating, “There were no doubts in my mind about the final game, I knew the boys were ready and we have got this.”

Rathod’s dedication extended beyond the field, as he even took a break from social media to focus on the team’s goals. “We all were off our major distraction to focus on bigger goal,” he explained, referring to MSP’s title win and TFA’s 1st Division runner-up finish. “It was about believing in dreams and fighting for them.”

Now, with MSP promoted to the MFA Elite Division, Rathod and his team face new challenges. He acknowledged the significant step up in competition, stating, “There is a lot of hard work now… we need to start from the scratch work hard to even sustain here.”

When asked to describe the season in one word, Rathod chose “Ecstatic,” emphasizing the fulfillment of a collective dream. “We dreamt something, we worked for it, we achieved it! Now we have more strength and more belief to dream and work towards it. There is no better feeling, I suppose.”

As Rathod takes on the additional responsibility of coaching the Mumbai U20 District team, his experience and leadership will undoubtedly continue to shape the future of Mumbai football. His ability to guide and motivate players, as evidenced by MSP’s championship victory, will be invaluable in nurturing the next generation of talent.

A come from behind win helped Mumbai Soccer Prodigies to lift Mumbai Super League title while a last gasp equalizer helped Waves FC finish runnerups

The Mumbai Super League 2024-25 culminated in a dramatic final day, with Mumbai Soccer Prodigies (MSP) emerging victorious after a captivating display of attacking football. The final day’s action was packed with twists, turns, and stunning goals, leaving fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

Going into the final day, the table was delicately poised. Waves FC led with 4 points from two games, followed by Mumbai Ultras FC and MSP tied on 3 points each, while Brothers WA languished at the bottom with just a single point. The stage was set for a thrilling showdown.

The first match of the day saw Waves FC take on Mumbai Ultras FC. The Ultras struck first, capitalizing on an early opportunity in the 8th minute when a dangerous cross from the right forced an own goal from Waves’ Chris Koli. Waves, spurred on by their vocal supporters, fought valiantly for an equalizer, creating several close chances. However, their efforts seemed to be in vain until the dying moments of the game. In the eighth minute of extra time, Shubham Nalvelkar unleashed a breathtaking free-kick, leaving the Ultras’ wall and goalkeeper helpless as the ball nestled into the net. The dramatic equalizer earned Waves a crucial point, but it wasn’t enough to secure them the championship.

The draw left Waves on 5 points, while Ultras moved to 4. This meant MSP had a chance to win the league in their final game against Brothers WA.

The second game of the day was a goal-fest. Brothers WA drew first blood, with Pratham Bhatkar unleashing a powerful shot from outside the box after a free-kick fell kindly to him. The early lead gave Brothers hope, but MSP responded with resilience. Deep Moorjani leveled the score with a tap-in around the 38th minute, setting the stage for a thrilling second half.

MSP came out firing after the break. A quickfire double from Nihal Colaco, followed by a strike from Joseph D’mello, put MSP in a commanding 4-1 lead within just six minutes. Sahil Tambotkar pulled a goal back for Brothers, but Colaco sealed the victory with a sublime chipped finish over the goalkeeper around the 63rd minute, completing his hat-trick. A late Tanishq Gadge goal for Brothers not withstanding, the final scoreline read 5-3 in favor of MSP, crowning them champions of the Mumbai Super League 2024-25.

With MSP securing 6 points, Waves FC finished as runners-up with 5 points, while Mumbai Ultras FC claimed third place with 4 points. Brothers WA finished fourth.

On Day 2 of the Mumbai Super League final round, Mumbai Ultras and Waves FC picked up vital victories against Brothers WA and Mumbai Soccer Prodigies (MSP), respectively, setting the stage for an intense battle in the playoffs.

Mumbai Ultras edged past Brothers WA in a gripping encounter. Heading into this fixture, Brothers WA had drawn their opening match, while Ultras suffered a defeat against Mumbai Soccer Prodigies. With both teams having previously played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the playoffs, another high-intensity clash was on the cards.

The first half was dominated by Mumbai Ultras, whose compact formation provided defensive stability while allowing them to hit on the counter more effectively with outnumbering the centre half. Their well-organized backline made it difficult for Brothers WA to break into the box, while Brothers, in turn, managed to keep Ultras’ attacking threat in check.

However, Ultras eventually found a breakthrough when Joyson, unmarked in midfield, quickly turned and threaded a precise lob ball to Shreyas just outside the box. With the goalkeeper rushing out, Shreyas instinctively finished with his first touch to give Ultras the lead just before halftime.

Early in the second half, Ultras doubled their advantage through Joyson, who cleverly feinted a central run before sprinting down the right flank to latch onto a through ball and slot home. But as the game progressed, Ultras lost control, and Brothers WA began dictating play.

Their persistence paid off when Shubham Chafe pounced on a opportunity after Alymer’s sublime through met the run of shubham who swiftly finished past the keeper. The goal reignited hopes of a comeback, but Ultras sealed the match in style. Shahid’s cross found Shreyas Zele, who struck a stunning half-volley from outside the box to make it 3-1, securing a crucial win that brought Ultras back into playoff contention.

On Day 2 of the Mumbai Super League final round, Mumbai Ultras and Waves FC picked up vital victories against Brothers WA and Mumbai Soccer Prodigies (MSP), respectively, setting the stage for an intense battle in the playoffs.

Mumbai Soccer Prodigies came into the match with strong momentum, having dominated their first game against Ultras. In contrast, Waves FC had begun their first match with a draw against Brothers WA.

MSP started aggressively but were wasteful in front of goal, missing two clear-cut chances in the first half very similar storyline against ultras in the first match. Nihal Colaco, after receiving a pass at the edge of the box, skillfully turned past his marker but fired his shot just wide of the post. Shortly after, Deep combined with Swatej to break into the box but chose to shoot instead of squaring it to Akshay, only to miss the target again.

Those missed chances proved costly as Waves FC, despite creating little, made their first real opportunity count. Just before halftime, Sunny Koli whipped in a curling cross to the far post, where Angel controlled and laid it off for Shubham Navelkar, who finished with composure—placing a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner to give Waves the lead.

With growing frustration and pressure mounting on MSP, their defense started showing cracks. The away crowd added to the tension, creating a charged atmosphere that played in Waves FC’s favor. Nihal, MSP’s main attacking threat, found himself isolated in the second half, receiving very little service.

Despite MSP’s struggles, their young goalkeeper produced a miraculous one-handed reflex save to deny Shubham’s thunderous strike and keep his team in the game. However, Waves FC sealed their victory with a second goal, capitalizing on their third clear-cut chance. Shubham and Sunny combined again, with Shubham chipping a delicate ball over two defenders for Sunny, who finished clinically into the bottom left corner.

With this win, Waves FC now sit atop the table, making the playoff race even more unpredictable.

The competition remains wide open, with every team still in contention for a spot for promotion/championship. Up next, Mumbai Soccer Prodigies will face Brothers WA, in what will be a full-circle moment as they close their campaign against the same team they started against. Meanwhile, Mumbai Ultras will take on Waves FC on February 14 in a crucial clash.
