Rangdajied United FC to be the Fourth Team in Group F

The 133rd IndianOil Durand Cup will now feature two teams from Meghalaya in Group F, with matches being held in Shillong.
Hyderabad FC, originally a part of this group, has withdrawn from the event due to unforeseen circumstances.In response, the Government of Meghalaya proposed the inclusion of Rangdajied United FC (RUFC), a decision that was enthusiastically accepted by the Durand Cup Organising Committee.

The Government of Meghalaya has been proactive in promoting local football talent and supported the inclusion of RUFC in the prestigious tournament. This decision has sparked excitement among the football fraternity in Meghalaya, who are eager to see more local players compete against national-level teams. The Honourable Minister in charge of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, expressed pride in having two local teams in the Durand Cup. He noted that this is the first time the event has been hosted in Shillong, and the participation of both Rangdajied United FC and Shillong Lajong FC will showcase the rich footballing talent of the state.

Rangdajied United FC will kick off their Durand Cup campaign against FC Goa on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 7 pm. Tickets for the match will be available at the Box Office near Golf Links on the day of the game. This match is eagerly anticipated by fans and promises to be a thrilling start for RUFC in the tournament.
