Mumbai Premier League: Sellebrity FC overcomes early deficit to triumph against JMJ FC

Ayub Qureshi’s brilliance, Prakash Sahani and Hasnain Shaikh’s goals secure a close 2-1 win for Sellebrity FC over JMJ FC in yesterday’s Mumbai Premier League encounter
In a highly charged Mumbai Premier League match, JMJ FC faced off against Sellebrity FC, with both teams displaying their attacking prowess from the onset.
The action unfolded in the 8th minute when JMJ took the lead. Eshan Kalsa orchestrated a perfectly-timed through ball for Avijit Metya, who calmly went one-on-one with Sellebrity keeper Balaram Das, finding the back of the net.
Sellebrity responded with a well-coordinated team goal, initiated from the right and culminating on the left. The penultimate pass of the move comes to Ayub Qureshi inside the box, who cuts back for Prakash Sahani whose first time shot from the middle of the box goes past the defender hits the inside of post and goes into the net to make it 1-1.
Sellebrity continued their attacking onslaught. Anurag Kedare’s pass to Hasnain Shaikh saw a shot sailing over the bar. The breakthrough came in the 40th minute when Ayub Qureshi’s shot off a corner ball, hit the woodwork, providing the perfect rebound for Hasnain Shaikh, who made no mistake in putting Sellebrity ahead.
At the stroke of half time, Hasnain Shaikh almost doubled the lead when he latched on to a loose ball and struck a left footed shot from outside the box, going just wide of the target. As the first half concluded, Sellebrity held a narrow 2-1 lead, with both teams showcasing skill and determination.
Second Half Resilience:
JMJ stepped up their attack in the second half, seeking an equalizer. Rishi Chhetri’s free-kick from 30 yards rattled the top bar and rebounded off the back of the keeper, narrowly avoiding an own goal.
Avijit Metya’s dynamic play at the edge of the box resulted in a shot inches wide of the target, as JMJ pressed for the leveling goal. Despite their improved attacking display, Sellebrity remained compact defensively, denying JMJ clear opportunities.
Babul Biswas’s attempt from the middle of the box tested the Sellebrity defense, but a brilliant defensive block by Aaron Trinidad ensured that Sellebrity maintained their lead.
The match concluded with a final score of Sellebrity FC taking away all three points. The win moves Sellebrity FC up to 9th place in the league table with 6 points from 2 games
