Zeeshan Akhtar scores five goals as DK Pharma thrashes India Rush 7-0
In the 48th match of the MFA Elite Premier League, DK Pharma recorded a comprehensive 7-0 victory over India Rush Soccer Club.
The top-of-the-table team faced off against the bottom-of-the-table team, with DK Pharma completely dominant throughout the game.
Zeeshan Akhtar starred for DK Pharma, scoring five goals in the match. The team got off to a quick start, with Meitram Singh breaking the deadlock in the 11th minute. Akhtar then doubled the lead with a strike in the 17th minute. With two quick strikes in the 39th and 41st minute, Akhtar completed his hat-trick giving DK Pharma a 4-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, India Rush continued to struggle and found it hard to trouble the DK Pharma defense, and as the latter continued to dominate. Mohammed Ashraf scored in the 49th minute, and Akhtar added two more goals in the 66th and 76th minutes to complete his stellar performance. The final score was DK Pharma 7-0 India Rush.
With the win, DK Pharma moved up to second place in the league table, level on points with KSA but with a slightly lower goal difference. India Rush, on the other hand, suffered their sixth loss of the campaign and are yet to pick up a single point, sitting at the bottom of the table.
Akhtar, who now has nine goals in the campaign, was named player of the match for the third time this season.
