Bombay Scottish too strong for J.J. Academy

Bombay Scottish (Mahim) defeated J.J. Academy (Mulund) 3-0 in the Boys U-16 Ahmed Sailor tournament held at MSSA Ground on 10th September 2015.

The match between, Bombay Scottish and J.J. Academy was a face off between two teams playing in different divisions in the MSSA U-16 tournament as Bombay Scottish team plays in the first Division while J.J. Academy play in the 4th Division.

Due to Bombay Scottish having an experience in playing in the 1st Division they had an added advantage. This reflected in the game against J.J. Academy as literally ruled the game in the first half.

The ball hardly crossed the J.J. Academy defense area as the Bombay Scottish displayed their attacking strength. To J.J. Academy’s credit they valiantly fought back Bombay Scottish attack and the first half ended goalless.

Bombay Scottish’s well earned goal came in the half an hour mark of the game. Ishaan Boxwala of Bombay Scottish utilised the cross to the tee which Ishaan tapped the ball in for opening goal.

5 minutes later, Bombay Scottish Captain, Bhavya Jain doubled his teams lead. Bhavya attempted a Volley which J.J. Academy Goalkeeper tried to capture the ball but it however touched his fingers and entered the goal post. Bhavya’s shot was so powerful that Abdul in an attempt to Capture the ball hurt his wrist.

J.J. Academy therefore had to replace Abdul Chaudhari and in his place the reserve keeper cum Midfielder, Aayush Mota of J.J. Academy, took his place in the post. Aayush was heavily supported by his defender teammate Girish Nadgivekar. Girish was hardworking throughout the game and cleared Bombay Scottish’s attacks on goal.

Even the last goal of the day scored by Aryan Yugpurush was only possible as Girish failed to mark the post alongside Aayush. As the final whistle blew, fate was sealed for J.J. Academy as they were being knocked out of Ahmed Sailor tournament by Bombay Scottish by a margin of 3-0.
