League of Champions (LOC): Round-up: Day 1

On 13th November 2016, in association with Young Footballers, League of Champions (LOC) 2016 has been kicked-off at Andheri Sports Complex Turf. The first day of the league was nothing short of a roller-coaster ride with renowned schools and academies from all over Mumbai locked horns with each other. Young Footballers who also initiated Master’s League earlier this year got huge appreciation which motivated the organisers to come up with yet another initiative.

Here is the Round-up of League of Champions (LOC), 13th November 2016:

Under – 8

In the opening match of the Tournament at Andheri Sports Complex, Kooh Sports faced Young Shall Grow in the Under-8 category. Both the teams displayed a determined and grit approach towards the game which ended in a 0-0 draw.

Kooh Sports’ second game against Baichung Bhutia Football School also ended in a draw when Vihaan‘s sublime strike was canceled out by Baichung Bhutia Football School’s Maheep in the dying moments of the match.

The third and last match of Under – 8 categories took place between St. Francis D’Assisi High School and Baichung Bhutia Football School. After escaping with a 1-1 draw against Kooh Sports, a lone goal from Ridhan proved enough for BBFS as they registered their first win of the campaign.

Under – 10

The League of Champions (LOC) Under-10 category saw three matches being played at Andheri Sports Complex Turf which had the likes of Western India United Football Club, Kalina Youngsters, St. Francis D’Assisi, Lokhandwala Stars, and Kooh Sports.

In the very first match, Western India United Football Club registers a very comprehensive 4-0 victory over Kalina Youngsters to start their campaign on a positive note. It was Harsh who proved to be the protagonist as he notched up a fine hat-trick, whereas, Mithal also got on the scoresheet.

The second match saw St. Francis D’Assisi lock horns against Lokhandwala Stars. Courtesy of Tanish and Ishan‘s goal helped Lokhandwala Stars to breeze past their counterpart 2-0 in their opening game.

The third and last match were undoubtedly the best of Day 1. Kooh Sports met Lokhandwala Stars in a game which had a total of nine goals scored. Kooh Sports remarkably won the game 5-4 to complete an astonishing victory.

Rohit scored twice, whereas, Gavisht, Aniket, and Shubham notched up one goal each for Kooh Sports. Meanwhile, Deven, Veren, Sego, and Prithvi scored a piece for Lokhandwala Stars in a nine-goal thriller.

Under – 12

In the very first match of the Under-12 category, Kalina Youngster notched up a fine 5-1 victory over Western India United Football Club to kick-off their campaign on a positive note. Krishna scored a brilliant hat-trick, whereas, Ethan and Ayaan also got on the scoresheet. For Western India United Football Club, Aditya scored the lone goal.

The second match saw Baichung Bhutia Football School comfortably defeating FuninOsports 5-1 at Andheri Sports Complex. Aarav scored twice, whereas, Siddhant, Aansh, and Vihaan scored one each. Anterishk scored the only goal for FuninOsports.  

India On Track match against Young Shall Grow ended in a 2-2 stalemate. Deeyan and Samar scored for India On Track, meanwhile, Anirudh scored twice for Young Shall Grow.

FuninOsports got back on track with a 6-3 victory over The Sports Gurukul in a nine-goal thriller. Farhan scored a sensational four goals, whereas, Tanish scored twice. Sean, Dhruv, and Aruik got one each for The Sports Gurukul.

St. Francis D’Assisi thumped The Sports Gurukul 11-0 to register a mammoth victory. Nitesh’s hat-trick was followed by Bilal, Tanish, and Keegan’s twin strikes. Dhruv and Shaun too got on the scoresheet with one goal each.

Other Results: Kalina Youngster 3-2 Baichung Bhutia Football School. Garrick hat-trick for Kalina Youngster, whereas, Aarav and Aansh scored one each for Baichung Bhutia Football School. Lepa Academy 1-2 Western India United Football Club. Aryan for Lepa Academy, whereas, Heet and Parth scored for Western India United Football Club. Football School of India (FSI) 7-0 Lepa Academy. Yohan scored four goals, Smith scored twice, and Varun notched up the final goal.

Under-14

In the Under-14 category, Kalina Youngster, FuninOsports, and India On Track ran out as winners in their respective matches. Kalina Youngster thumped Young Shall Grow 4-0 with Tyrell netting a fine hat-trick and Lalit scoring the fourth one.

FuninOsports proved to be clinical in front of goal as they defeated Western India United Football Club 2-0. Rahul and Deepankar scored one each for FuninOsports.

Goals from Manan and Kartik helped India On Track to register a 2-0 victory over Baichung Bhutia Football School in the last match of the League of Champions (LOC) Under-14 category.

The next Match-Day would be on the 20th of November, Sunday.
