Mumbai Knights kick off MFA Women’s Premier League with win
MFA Women’s Premier League: Mumbai Knights ride on Mayuri Morey strike to win season opener, while Bodyline hammer PIFA Sports 9-2
In the early morning fixture, Mumbai Knights FA and Footie First FC kick-started the MFA Women’s Premier League season 2021-22.
In a rather cagey opening hour, both sides played it safe and steady with occasional foray in the attack. Neither side managed to break the deadlock as the first half ended at 0-0. The Introduction of substitute Mayuri Morey into the game helped increase the intensity of the Mumbai Knights.
As the game neared the end, the substitution eventually paid off as Mayuri slotted home the goal to give Mumbai Knights their maiden win in the top division football, kicking off the season with all three points.

In the 2nd game of the day, Bodyline SC kicked off their MFA Women’s Premier League campaign with a 9 – 2 hammering of PIFA Sports.
Deniese Pereira lead the line with four goals while Reetika Sahani, Richa Uchenna, Nishka Parkash, Sharon Pereira and Vilina Kolwalkar assisted with a goal each.
On the other end, Shruti K and Rochelle’s goals were the only positives for PIFA Sports.
