3 Players from Dhanbad Football Academy set to play for India

Three players from Dhanbad Football Academy have been shortlisted for the upcoming AFC U-18 Championship. H Ranjan Singh, H. Nongsaba Meetei and Dharamchand Soren proved their mettle in the U-18 I-League and received a call-up from the National Camp.

Dhanbad Football Academy has its regional centres in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. They are affiliated to the AIFF and play in its various leagues. Their franchises are based at Mumbai and Bangalore. The training centres in Mumbai are based in Churchgate and Borivali. The Mumbai team competes in the MDFA League and the other teams from different cities are registered to the respective state associations. Apart from the existing academies, Dhanbad FA recently inaugurated two new centres each at Mumbai and Kerala, aiming to have a pan India influence backed by able coaches.

The team is managed by Head Coach Shekar Bangera (AFC License Holder, Experience of coaching teams in Maharastra and Karnataka Sporting Association teams). Bernard Pere is appointed as the Football Development and Technical Director for both the centres of Mumbai. Mr John Alphonso (TATA’s, M&M) looks over the centre at Borivali (W).

In its mission to promote football, Dhanbad is scheduling training sessions and trials for the following age categories:

U-10, U-12, U-16 (Boys and Girls), U-17 and U-18 (Girls), Goalkeepers Academy U-10, U-14, U-18 (Boys and Girls)

The academy will soon reveal the dates for the trials adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures set by the concerned authorities. The following are the details for registering in the upcoming sessions organized by Dhanbad FA:
