Malvani SC shoot down Mumbai FC U-17 to reach the Final
Malvani S.C beat Mumbai FC U-17 on pnelaties to enter the final of the 3rd Division after both the teams were tied after the regulation time. The match was held at St. Xavier’s Ground in Parel on Saturday, 30th May 2015.
It was an exciting game as both the teams were of equally dominating each other. Young and furious Mumbai F.C players and on the other side experienced and hard Malvani S.C’s players.
In the 3rd minute Malvani S.C missed a chance from a free kick shot from just outside the penalty box by Haxi Dsouza. His shot was blocked by of the opponent player and it rebounded and went over the cross bar.
Malvani S.C’s Moheeb Hussain gave a killer pass at Carlton M who smashed the ball towards the goal but it hit the goalpost and rebounded in the 13th minute. Rapidly Malvani S.C’s Gypsy Singh grabbed the loose rebounded ball and shot on target but goalkeeper dived in front and made save.
Carlton M and Gypsy Singh made a good attempt to score but they missed to score.
Minutes later Mumbai F.C’s Jay Sahani efforts shielded the shot of the opponent team when Malvani S.C’s David Dsouza grabbed the ball and tried shooting inside the penalty box. Jay Sahani blocked him and avoided the ball to enter the goal. If the shot was not blocked it was a goal for Malvani S.C.
It seemed that the first half would end goalless when Malvani S.C’s Haxi Dsouza fired into the top corner minute before the break. David Dsouza controlled the ball and gave a chip up at Haxi Dsouza who grabbed the ball and gave a straight shot on target.
Even though both the teams were dominating each other it was still Malvani S.C who had better chances then Mumbai F.C.
Malvani S.C were in leading with a spectacular play by Haxi Dsouza and David Dsouza.
The second half turned to be more exiting as Malvani S.C were ahead and Mumbai F.C had to prove themselves.
In first few minutes after the break neither of the teams got a chance to sore the ball was dribbling from one player to another.
10 minutes after the break Mumbai F.C failed to score as Harsh Solanki failed to control the ball which he received from right wing shot by Bryce Miranda. Harsh Solanki shot was snatched by opponent player as he failed turn the ball towards his goal.
There came a time of relief for Mumbai F.C 3 minutes later when Mayur Suvare equalized the score.it was a very spectacular or fast goal shot by Mayur Suvare as the opponent teams defender used all possible tackle to clear the ball when he grabbed the ball and shot from very close range on the target.
Mumbai F.C’s player were rejoicing after this shot as they were under pressure after the break to score.
Now both the teams were trying hard to grab the lead and to make themselves save ahead in the game.
Nothing much came out from the last few minutes of the game and both the teams had to settle for 1-1. Hence hey had to play ahead for a tie breaker.
During the tie breaker both the teams were under pressure and the whole atmosphere was hushed.
During the tie breaker Malvani SC were successful in scoring as they correctly grabbed 3 points where as Mumbai F.C had 2 points. It was a very close struggle between both the teams to be in lead.
With the final results Malvani S.C were safe and in for the finals on Sunday evening against Xavier’s Boys.
