Soccer Academy edge past Sacred Heart 3-2

Mumbai: The Soccer Academy scored a narrow 3-2 win against Sacred Heart High School, Worli in a boys’ under-14 Premier Division (quarter-final) match of the of IDBI Federal Life Insurance-The Sunday League (Season 4), at the Western Railway ground, Lower Parel.

Both the teams, The Soccer Academy and Sacred Heart played an attacking game and there was plenty of excitement throughout. The Soccer Academy held their nerves and did well to score through the efforts of Krish Karpan, Aamir Shaikh and Vansh Wadhwa, while Sacred Heart scored through Aryan Pangerkar and Vighnesh Kasturi. Mohammad Ali Kitekar of The Soccer Academy was named ‘Player of the match’.

In another last 8 encounter, FC Vigour and Total Football Academy played out a goalless draw in normal time. But, FC Vigour went on to defeat Total Football Academy 4-1 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-final. Daksh Waghela, Sujal Bhat, Manthan Waghela and Sameer Edareehi, all successful converted from the penalty spot to seal FC Vigyour’s win, while only Prince D’Souza could score for the losing side. Sujal Bhat of FC Vigour was declared ‘Player of the match’.

Results – Boys’ under-14 (quarter-finals): FC Vigour 4 (Daksh Waghela, Sujal Bhat, Manthan Waghela, Sameer Edareehi) beat Total Football Academy 1 (Prince D’Souza). Player of the match: Sujal Bhat (FC Vigour).

The Soccer Academy 3 (Krish Karpan, Aamir Shaikh, Vansh Wadhwa) beat Sacred Hearts High School, Worli 2 (Aryan Pangerkar, Vighnesh Kasturi). Player of the match: Mohammad Ali Kitekar (The Soccer Academy).

N United 4 (Rayaan Mohammad 2, Pramit Goel, MD Farook Sayyad Umar) beat Young Shall Grow 3 (Manas Shivpuri 2, Nair Shrey). Player of the match: Rayaan Mohammad (N United).

Aleida FC 4 (Piyush Jadhav 2, Divyang Sheram 2) beat Barça Academy 0. Player of the match: Divyang Sheram (Aleida FC).
