Bandra Packers dished out a fine attacking performance & made a positive winning start with a fluent 3-0 win against ABC Malad in a Group B league match

Bandra Packers dished out a fine attacking performance and made a positive winning start recording a fluent 3-0 win against ABC Malad in a Group-B league match of the Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) organized 3rd Late Shri Vishwanath Anchan Memorial Veterans’ football tournament 2019-2020, at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan on Monday.

Last year’s losing finalist, Bandra Packers started with a bang and took a second-minute lead when Savio Rodrigues calmly converted from a penalty earned after the ball hit an ABC Malad defender on the hand inside the area.

Bandra Packers continued to press for more goals and a couple of minutes later Agnelo Lobo struck the second to double the lead and go into the break with a 2-0 cushion.

In the second half, Coswil Cardoz slotted home the third goal to complete Bandra Packers’ win. Earlier in a Group-A match, defending champions Central Railway encountered a strong challenge from Tiger Foundation before Asif Jamal struck a late winner to secure a narrow 1-0 win for the railway outfit.

Later, in an evenly contested Group-C match, Alpha Sports Academy 0 drew with Xavierities Vile Parle shared honours as they played out a goalless draw.

Results –

Group-A: Central Railway SA 1 (Asif Jamal) beat Tiger Foundation 0.

Group-B: Bandra Packers 3 (Savio Rodrigues, Agnelo Lobo, Coswil Cardoz) beat ABC Malad 0.

Group-C: Alpha Sports Academy 0 drew with Xavierites Vile Parle 0.
