Income Tax ride on an impressive Henderson Dias, Bryce Miranda show to outclass Maharashtra State Police 4-1 in Elite Division encounter

The game began with Income Tax outfit dominating the proceedings from the get go. The first real opportunity came in the form of set pieces when a Astle Pereira delivery from the corner was headed on target by a Tejas only to be denied by MS Police custodian.

It didn’t take long for IT to take the lead when in the 22nd minute, Astle found Bryce through a through ball who did well to beat his marker before cutting it back for an onrushing Henderson who made no mistake in dispatching it to the net. The game slowed down a bit after the goal as both sides threw caution to the wind.

It was not until the midway through the second half when the second goal was scored. A cross from Bryce was well connected by Henderson however the shot was saved by an alert MS Police custodian however as the ball looped up, Nachiket Palav headed it home to score his maiden goal of the season and double the lead for IT.

Four minutes later, Himket Dhemane reduced the deficit for MS Police with the 79th minute strike. However, IT reclaimed heir two goal lead in the very next minute when Henderson Dias latched on to a Bryce Miranda through ball before striking it past the keeper. In the 87th minute, Bryce Miranda found himself in space after skipping past two defenders before unleashing a powerful strike to extend the lead to three goals.

MS Police had a late opportunity to reduce the deficit after Tejas fouled inside the IT box. As the referee pointed to the spot kick Tejas was sent off for the foul. However, MSP failed to convert the late penalty as the game ended at 4-1 in favour of IT.

Companeroes SC and Income Tax in convincing fashion won their respective Elite Division matches in the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2019-2020.

Companeroes snatched a 4-2 win against Vombay Muslims at the Neville D’Souza ground. For Companeroes striker Aniket Suvarna struck a brace of goals and Suresh Suthar and Andon D’Souza netted one each to complete the win. Bombay Muslims scored through Niraj Bhandari and Xavier D’Souza.
