Mumbai Football Update: Iron Born outplay Bombay Muslims

Iron Born outclass Bombay Muslims in Elite Division match while in Mohammed Hussain Memorial tournament, Atlanta FC beat United villagers

A youthful Iron Born CFCI showed great character and came out with flying colours against Bombay Muslims as they charged to an authoritative 3-0 victory in an Elite Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2019-2020 and played at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Thursday.

The feature of Iron Born’s facile win was the brilliant performance from strike Armash Ansari who notched up a fine hat-trick. Iron Born drew first blood in the very second minute when Armash  the target from a snap effort and he then doubled the lead in the 54th minute.  Bombay Muslims tried to get back but found the going tough and Armash once again was in the thick of action scoring the third goal in the 89th minute to complete his hat-trick and Iron Born’s victory.

Earlier, Atlanta FC scored twice in the first half to overcome United Villagers Welfare Association 2-0 in a semi-final match of the Mohammed Hussain Memorial knockout football tournament for Super Division clubs. Atlanta FC scored through Kunal Mhatre in the 10th minute and Jaybalan Nadar in the 27th minute to wrap up the match.

Iron Born CFCI 3 (Armash Ansari 2nd, 54th, 89th) beat Bombay Muslims SC 0.

Mohammed Hussain Memorial knockout football tournament – knockout (semi-final): 

Atlanta FC 2 (Kunal Mhatre, Jaybalan Nadar) beat United Villagers Welfare Association 0.

Second Div: 

Tipu Sultan SC 2 (Faizan Shaikh, Ziyad Shaikh) beat Sahar Silver Star 1 (Abbas Sayed).

Companeroes SC 1 (Yogesh Duvet) beat Revolution SC 0.
