Rampant KSA dismantle Mumbai Customs

In an early kick-off, Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) defeated Mumbai Customs 5-0 at Goans Sports Association with Nigerian striker, Arihi Uchela and Roger Sam scoring a brace each to settle the terms.

Last week, Mumbai Customs thrashed GMFC 5-0 when inform striker, Francisco Salin scored a hat-trick for the boys in yellow to continue their superb performance in MDFA Elite Division. But things weren’t on their side when they faced Karnataka Sports Association today.

It took exactly half an hour for KSA midfielder, Roger Sam to open the scoring where he comfortably beat the Mumbai Custom’s goalkeeper, Lihaz Kaya to make the score 1-0 for KSA. Six minutes later, Captain Arihi Uchela made the score 2-0 in favour of Karnataka Sports Association where the Nigerian nodded the ball after controlling it brilliantly.

Into the injury time of first half, Mumbai Customs were awarded a free kick just outside the box, Praneel Mendon stepped up and calmly attempted over the wall but KSA’s goalkeeper Kishan Sulegai superbly tipped Praneel’s shot over the bar.

Seven minutes into second half, KSA’s Hitesh Harkera long ball found Arihi Uchela where he went past his marker and comfortably rolled the ball towards Roger Sam who finished it with his left foot making the score 3-0 for Karnataka Sports Association. It was team effort which kept haunting Mumbai Customs, surely now the game was beyond Custom’s reach there.

Instead of sitting back, Karnataka Sports Association was hunger for more goals. Midfielder Kenneth Desena tried his luck from range when his shot sailed just over the bar but the goal was coming, 76 minutes on the clock, Nigerian striker Arihi Uchela scored his second and Karnataka Sports Association’s fourth goal of the day when Valentine Pereira precisely through ball found Arihi, whose initial shot was saved by Lihaz Kaya but he couldn’t stopped the second shot which nestled past him, a complete rout which no one actually thought of.

Considering Mumbai Custom’s 5-0 victory last week, today’s performance was not even mildly close to what they performed back then.

The rampage was completed when Arihi Uchela found substitute Merwyn Fernandes, whose low drive went past the goalkeeper, making it 5-0 for Karnataka Sports Association on 88th minute as KSA ran out 5-0 winners at the end of a comprehensive morning.
