This month, FootFun Football Academy will bring out its 7th edition of 5-A Side tournament with an aim to boost football among 8 – 12 year olds of Mumbai

The annual tournament from one of the most recognized Football Academy of the city will be held on 14th April, contested at the Karnataka Sports Association (KSA) Ground, Churchgate.

Young footballers of best footballing nations, aiming to play professionally start right from the tender age of 5 onwards. Training young and playing regular competitive games help develop good game reading capabilities. Until recently with AIFF’s grassroots initiative of Baby Leagues, this system of football tournaments for young had been missing in Indian Football scenario. A complicated football structure of the country has led to young footballers missing out on much needed ample game time.

This 5-A side tournament from Footfun FA for the Under 8, Under 10 and Under 12 category aims to ‘impart a complete football education and experience’ so that it would help kids enjoy the sport as well as take interest in it and be the future stars of the game.

About the Tournament:

There will be 10 teams in each category (Under 8, Under 10 and Under 12), which will be a league-cum-knockout tournament. Those 10 teams will be divided into 2 pools of 5 teams each, where the top 2 teams will qualify for the semi-finals. This way the tournament aims to ensure as much games as possible for each clubs. The tournament will begin from 10 am in the morning.

Often times a club may not succeed in reaching the podium finish yet there would be young talents from these teams who had performed exceptionally, to motivate and boost these talents, there are cash and individual prizes as well.
