Transfer Update: Kerala Blasters sign Abdul Hakku
The young defender plied his trade for Northeast United FC in the last season
Kerala Blasters have announced the signing of young, versatile Kerala-born defender Abdul Hakku. The 23-year-old defender was with Northeast United FC in ISL 4 and managed to feature for the Highlanders in 4 games.
Standing over six feet tall, Abdul Hakku is lanky and is a dominant presence in the air. His aerial prowess is second to none and it is no a doubt that his presence will bolster Kerala Blasters’ defence.
Before joining Northeast United FC, Abdul Hakku was a regular at Fateh Hyderabad. He was so consistent there and managed to impress one and all. He can ply his trade as a centre-back and right-back. During his stint with Northeast United FC, he made 17 tackles and 12 clearances.
This latest update hints at Kerala Blasters’ eye for young talents and their intentions for the next ISL. They have already signed Holicharan Narzary and Anas Edathodika.
With Sandesh Jhingan, Anas Edathodika and Lalruatthara already with Kerala Blasters, the inclusion of Abdul Hakku adds depth and variety to their squad.
Blasters will be aiming to rejuvenate next season and clinch the ISL trophy that has eluded them.
