Arsenal and Chelsea join race to sign Barcelona superstar!

If signed, he’d be a great addition to both the teams!

English Clubs Arsenal and Chelsea had a disappointing season this time. Both the clubs were below-par this season and left a frustrating figure throughout.

Arsenal endured a tragic season. For the first and last time under Wenger, they failed to make a UEFA Champions League qualification. The team has also parted ways with the Frenchman and has now appointed former PSG coach Unai Emery at the helm.

Arsenal will be looking to resurge and exert themselves in both domestic leagues and in Europe. Meanwhile, Chelsea too had a similar journey. They were the defending champions of English Premier League before the season started, but failed to deliver performances that would help them retain the crown.

They also had a disappointing UEFA Champions League, where they were outclassed by FC Barcelona. However, both Arsenal and Chelsea are planning to bolster their armours with the inclusion of new faces. As a part, both clubs have joined the race to sign FC Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen.

Cillessen was impressive for FC Barcelona, whenever he got the chance. However, he had less play time and played a second-fiddle to Ter Stegen. Barcelona are keen to retain him, but he wants more play time and the London clubs are willing to purchase.

Unai Emery plans to launch an offer for Cillessen, to replace Petr Cech as the No.1 keeper at the Emirates. While, Chelsea are unsure about the future of Thibaut Courtois, as he, reportedly, has offers from both Real Madrid and PSG, who’re planning to overhaul their respective squads.

Despite a higher release clause, sources in Spain reveals that Barcelona would let him leave for  £25m, and it sounds a cheap price for Arsenal and Chelsea to have a go.
