MDFA Super Division: Dena Bank, Air India start play-offs with win
Air India U-19 and Dena Bank both started of their play-off fixtures with a closely fought wins. Both sides now hold three points after one game.
After a dominating group stage where they picked victories in each of the six league fixtures, Central Railway suffered their first loss of the season after a 0-1 loss to Air India U-19 side. Somesh Thakur’s strike turned out to be the difference as Air India U-19 edged Central Railways by a solitary goal margin to pick an important three points in the play-offs standings.
Meanwhile in the other fixture of Super Division Play-off group A, FSI-Seaview faced a similar outcome of Central Railway as they went down to Dena Bank by a solitary goal margin courtesy of Denzil Mascerenhas’s strike. The win helped Dena Bank secure an important three points while FSI-Seaview will look to comeback stronger in the next game.
Air India next face FSI-Seaview while Central Railway will look to bounce back into winning ways against Dena Bank.
