Dena Bank rides on Arfat Ansari’s hat-trick to seal a 7-0 win
5th April 2018, Mumbai: Dena Bank registered their sixth win in as many games after thumping a hapless Rhema Sports Foundation 7-0 in an MDFA Super Division encounter, played at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri, on Thursday evening. Arfat Ansari turned out to be the hero this time for the Bankers as he notched up a sublime hat-trick to continue his prolific season in the Super Division.
With this win, Dena Bank is comfortably sitting at the top of Group B with 18 points in 6 games, scoring 33 times and conceding just 5 goals in the process. The Bankers currently has the best attack in the Super Division, courtesy of Denzil Mascarenhas and Arfat Ansari’s spectacular season.
Meanwhile, on the other end, it has been quite an underwhelming season for Rhema Sports Foundation who has just won once in their five games this season. They are lying third from the bottom at the most.
Ayush Koli was the first one to get on the scoresheet with a superb finish. His awareness inside the box proved crucial as the Bankers took an early lead. The attacking duo of Arfat and Denzil joined the party with a goal each to put Dena Bank in the driver’s seat just before the break. In the second-half, Kashif Pathan added the fourth goal before Arfat scored two quick goals to complete his hat-trick, surely the first of many more to arrive.
Substitute Yunnus Ansari scored the seventh and final goal of the game to seal a comprehensive and dominant seven-star performance. This result has surely put Dena Bank’s one foot in the play-offs stage.
