Delight for Millat FC and Bank of India in Super Division

26th March 2018, Mumbai: Two MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association Super Division games were contested on Monday. In the first game, Millat FC played against Reserve Bank of India (RBI) while in the second game, Bank of India (BOI) encountered Kenkre FC U-19 at the Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri. A hat-trick from Millat FC’s duo Kamran Siddiqui and Kalpesh Rane guided them to an 8-0 win, whereas, Alvito Gomes’ brace secured a 3-1 victory for Bank of India.

Group D: Millat FC (Kamran Siddiqui 14′, 45+2′ & 47′, Kalpesh Rane 70′, 82′ & 90′, Merick Fernandes 68′ and Adnan Ishke 72′) 8-0 Reserve Bank of India

A dominant Millat FC demolished Reserve Bank of India (RBI) 8-0 to maintain their undefeated run in MDFA Super Division on Monday afternoon. A fifth win in six games has cemented Millat FC’s place right at the top of Group D with 16 points, six more than second-placed Air India U-19.

Kamran Siddiqui game Millat FC a solitary lead in the 14th minute with a thunderous strike before RBI responded positively well to hold their counterpart. At the stroke of half-time, Kamran made it 2-0 with a delicate strike. Millat FC peaked in the second-half where they scored six times.

RBI completely ran out of gas. It took Kamran just two more minutes to complete his hat-trick before his partner-in-crime Kalpesh Rane also bagged a hat-trick in the later stage of the game. A goal each by Merick Fernandes and Adnan Ishke completed an 8-0 rout.

Group C: Bank of India (Alvito Gomes 10′ & 19′ and Dhruv Yadav 90+3′) 3-1 Kenkre FC U-19 (Jay Bhavnani 85′)

In the second and final game of the day, Bank of India (BOI) did just enough to sink Kenkre U-19 2-0 to register their second win of the campaign. BOI is fourth in Group C with seven points in five games while Kenkre U-19 suffered their first defeat of the season.

It was Belekar and Alvito’s superb combination which opened the scoring for BOI. In the 10th minute, Belekar’s dangerous cross was delicately poked in by Alvito who doubled BOI’s lead just nine minutes later after a sloppy defending by Kenkre.

After conceding two early goals, Kenkre FC responded pretty well but failed to convert most of their chances. Negi and Jay had a couple of opportunities throughout the game where they were unable to keep their composure. In the dying stages of the game, Kenkre did pull a goal back through Jay Bhavnani’s fine finish but deep into the stoppage time, Dhruv Yadav scored BOI’s third goal to wrap up the game, courtesy of a sublime finish.
