Round-up: Nadkarni Cup & Super Division 

14th February 2018, Mumbai: Over the last couple of days, several matches took place at RCF Ground, Chembur. Mumbai Strikers played Bank of India (BOI) while Air India met Indian Navy in RCF Nadkarni Cup, whereas, St. Paul’s faced Central Railway (MD) and GMSC encountered Mumbai Port Trust in Super Division.

Nadkarni Cup: Quarter-Final 

Mumbai Strikers 0-0 Bank of India (BOI) – (Mumbai Strikers won 4-2 via penalties)

Elite Division side Mumbai Strikers continued their fairy-tale as they booked their place in the semi-final of RCF Nadkarni Cup 2018. The high-flying Strikers defeated BOI 4-2 on penalties after the match ended goalless.

Abhishek Bhagat, Abhijeet Shetty, Arsalan and Jay comprehensively converted their spot kicks for Mumbai Strikers while only Alvito Gomes and Aishwary managed to score for BOI.

Both Abhishek Singh (MS) and Sanjeev Verma (BOI) had an outstanding game under the goal-post. Mumbai Strikers will face Union Bank of India (UBI) in the second semis.

Nadkarni Cup: Semi-Final

Air India (Pratik Koli 16′ & 45′ and Advait Shinde 19′) 3-0 Indian Navy Holders Air India left no stones unturned as they romped to a comprehensive 3-0 win over in-form Indian Navy side in the 1st semi-final on Wednesday evening.

It was prolific goal-scorer Pratik Koli who struck twice in the first-half along with Advait Shinde as Air India were leading 3-0 at the break. The second-half saw no goals as Air India booked their place in the final, leaving themselves a chance to defend their title.

Super Division

St. Paul’s (Ram 2′, Danroy 20′ and Sahil 30′) 3-0 Central Railway (MD)

Central Railway (MD) suffered a huge defeat at the hands of St. Paul’s in a crucial Super Division tie at RCF Ground, Chembur. Ram opened the scoring in the 2nd minute which was followed by Danroy’s 20th minute goal and Sahil’s 30th minute sublime strike.
