Hedgewar Boys to play IFA in MDFA U16 Youth League final
9th February 2018, Mumbai: The recently ongoing MDFA – Mumbai District Football Association U-16 Youth League is about to conclude as the two final spots have been confirmed. Hedgewar Boys and Indian Football Academy (IFA) are set to face each other in an anticipating U-16 Youth League final.
In the first semi-final, Hedgewar Boys and Goans Sports Association had to be separated on penalties as the match ended 2-2 in normal time. Goans Sports Association had an upper hand as they scored twice in the first fifteen minutes, courtesy of Yashodhar Sharma and Satendra Yadav’s strike.
But Hedgewar Boys fought back as they levelled the score through Nitesh More and Aayush Mane’s sublime goal. The match went into the penalties where Hedgewar Boys triumphed 5-4 to book their place in the final of inaugural MDFA U-16 Youth League.
In the other semi-final, Indian Football Academy (IFA) displayed a clinical performance to breeze past Milan FA 2-0 to set up a mouth-watering clash against Hedgewar Boys in the final.
It was Captain Shlok Pabale who helped IFA to clinch a memorable victory after scoring twice, in the 25th and 50+1 minute, respectively. Shlok has been outstanding throughout the campaign and he is one of the contenders for best player.
