Rumours : Kerala Blasters set to sign former Brazilian International

Indian Super League’s Kerala based outfit, Kerala Blasters are in search for a player to replace offloaded Dutch youngster, Mark Sifneos. With David James, and Co. striving to find the potential replacement for the youngster, a former agent, took it to Twitter, and claimed that David James has offered Brazilian Nilmar a contract until the end of the season.

Kerala Blasters’ have been floundering in the revived Indian Super League, and they’re near the wreck, and they feature no more than halfway up in the table. The appointment of David James saw the team in good form in the first three games, but since then, the team have suffered two defeats.

Coming into the matter, Nilmar is a former Brazilian International, who plays primarily as a Centre Forward. A graduate of Sport Club Internacional academy, he kick-started his professional career there. Later on, he moved to Europe, and has featured in for several top-flight clubs there. He has also made 24 appearances for the Brazilian team during 2003-2011.

If the claim happens to be true, Kerala Blasters will have the opportunity to rejuvenate the squad, and it will help the team bolster the attacking segment. However, the tweet also claims that if Nilmar joins, Berbatov will likely drop from the squad.

Kerala Blasters released Mark Sifneos yesterday, and there are rumours suggesting that the team would also consider offloading veteran superstar, Dimitar Berbatov, who has been pathetic this season, and Keziron Kizito, who has his shoulder dislocated.

Floundering Kerala will face Delhi Dynamos in their next game at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi. A win will keep both the sides alive in the race to playoff, while a loss will likely put an end to their dream. In the reverse fixture, Kerala Blasters trounced Delhi, as Iain Hume rose upto the occasion. Kerala Blasters faithful will be expecting such as scintillating action again.
