Adnan and Kalpesh leads Millat FC to 3-0 victory

5th January 2017, Mumbai: Earlier today, an in-form Millat FC side record their fourth consecutive win with a comfortable 3-0 win over Mumbai Port Trust (MBPT) in the MDFA Super Division Group D encounter at Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri. It was Kalpesh Rane and Adnan Ishke’s brilliance which helped Millat FC to snatch all three points against MBPT as both the attackers hardly put a foot wrong throughout the match.

Mumbai Port Trust had a fine start. Mohammad Afeef had a number of opportunities to open the scoring for MBPT but his poor finishing hardly bothered Millat’s Goalkeeper Anas Ishke. In the 13th minute, Millat FC was awarded a free-kick from 25-yards at least. Craig D’Souza stepped up and unleashed a venomous shot which comfortably sailed past MBPT’s Goalkeeper Ashish into the top corner.

Craig’s spectacular free-kick changed the momentum of the game as Millat FC dominated the rest of the match. Striker Aniket Shipe was having a day-off as he failed to convert three clear-cut chances for Millat. Their Captain Rayyan Sheikh was outstanding alongside Kalpesh Rane and Adnan Ishke while Farhan Butt’s experience was quite helpful for Millat FC as it was his guidance and command in which the team was soaring high.

Millat FC doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Adnan Ishke scored a fabulous goal from the right flank when MBPT’s goalkeeper failed to parry his curling effort as it comprehensively sailed past him. The third and final goal came in the 58th minute when Referee Rosario spotted a handball in MBPT’s penalty box.

Aniket Shipe, who was clearly having a bad day at the office, stepped up to take the penalty. The number 21 didn’t miss it this time as he converted the penalty with a powerful shot past MBPT’s Goalkeeper Ashish.

With this win, Millat FC is now comfortably sitting at the top of Group D with 12 points in 4 games while MBPT is second with one win in two games.
