On Tuesday night, Miners SC ‘B’ produced a determined and spirited performance to overcome a strong BEST Arts & Sports Club side 2-1 in late kick-off at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel. Their counterparts opened the scoring first in the 4th-minute itself when Praful Bhoir scored a sublime goal.
But Miners responded quite brilliantly when Joseph D’Cruz levelled the score in the 10th minute before Tejas Ghule completed the comeback with a fine strike in the 25th minute to seal all three points.
Second Division (Group B) Naunihal FC 0-0 Friends United FC
In the second and final game on Tuesday, Naunihal FC and Friends United FC shared the spoils in an eventful 0-0 draw in a tight Group B encounter. Both the sides had their chances but due to poor finishing, they had to settle for a draw.
First Division (Group A) – DK Pharma (Chandresh Gupta 4′ OG, Kartik Naikar 7′ and Lionel Caldeira 53′ pen) 2-3 Goans Sports Association (Moni Bubere 44′ and Amitsingh Labana 62′)
