Enock Annan’s brace helps ONGC win 5-1

17th November 2017, Mumbai: On Sunday evening, ONGC (Oil & Natural Gas Corporation) faced struggling side PIFA Colaba in the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) Elite Division encounter at Cooperage Stadium. Enock Annan turned out to be the hero as he bagged a brace for ONGC.

After struggling to see-off Western Railway in their previous match, ONGC hit top-form to register an emphatic 5-1 victory over PIFA Colaba which piled more misery on PIFA Colaba’s Elite Division campaign.

Both the sides had a positive start but soon after the clock hit 15 minutes, last season’s runner-up ONGC took control of the match and dictated the play comprehensively. PIFA never looked like bothering their counterpart.

With the score tied 0-0 till 25 minutes, ONGC scored two quick-goals which put them 2-0 up at the half-an-hour mark. It was prolific striker Enock Annan who scored twice within four minutes. The momentum swung in ONGC’s favour as they dominated PIFA throughout the match.

Just before half-time, striker Parminder Singh increased the lead after scoring a sublime goal in the 41st minute. The game was well and truly beyond PIFA’s reach after Parminder’s strike.

Himanshu Patil who had scored twice in ONGC’s first match of the season scored his third of the campaign in the 50th minute after converting from the penalty spot which was followed by Lalmuanpuia’s terrific strike in the 70th minute.

PIFA pulled one back in the 88th minute when Aditya Dalvi scored past Sheldon Raghwan but the damage was already done as ONGC registered a thumping victory to snatch their second win of the campaign.
