Kerala Blasters vs Jamshedpur FC: 5 Talking Points.

A real 90 minutes party at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Kerala Blasters vs Jamshepur was an enthralling match, despite both sides failing to score goals. Kerala Blasters had more possession against  JFC, but the visitors were the better side, when things come to the number of shots.

Let’s take a look at the key talking points of the match.

#5 Invincible, the custodian of Kerala Blasters.

Despite Kerala Blasters enjoying the domination in the possession, Paul Rachubka was tested many times by the relentless Jamshedpur attackers. He faced four shots on target, of which all were denied by him. His denying Kervens Belfort’s clout header on the later stages of drama was just world class, and is undoubtedly the save of the season so far.

#4 Mehtab vs Berbatov, the clash of the wizards.

One of the biggest signing of the league on one side, and the reliable weapon in the arsenal of Steve Coppell on the other side, it was just a beauty, watching Mehtab’s and Berbatov’s duals each other. Both had a dreadful game in their matches for the respective sides, but had turned to linchpin’s today.

Berbatov’s touches were elegant, while Mehtab’s run and toil were also found immense for his side. The dual’s between them also paved way for some argy-bargy, and both were punished with a yellow card for this. However, it was Mehtab, who won the battle, at least for the Jamshedpur fans, as he was awarded with the Hero of the match award.

#3 Stubborn defenders kept the score card 0-0.

Both sides had the intent to score the goals, but the defenders were not ready to let them. The crunching tackle’s of Sandesh Jhingan, aerial ability of Nemanja Lakic Pesic, and rigidity of Anas Edathodika, all were crucial in the performance of their team, as they were the back bone’s of the team at the defense.

#2 Captain’s the real commanders.

The captain’s of both sides, Sandesh Jhingan and Tiri had an incredible game tonight at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. Showing great commanding ability and individual talents, both of them were instrumental at the back for their sides, and to be be honest, it was Sandesh Jhingan, who was better than Tiri in every aspects of the play. Sandesh’s alarming presence at the back ensured thwarting the fatal moves of Belfort and Azuka.

#1 Lalruatthara shines, Jerry disappoints

Lalruatthara had a prudent display for Kerala Blasters, as he was a consistent presence there in the left flank, and he had time to deny attacks, and to supply the attackers with balls. We had barely seen flaws from him in the match, so was his performance.

On the other hand, young Jerry had a dreadful day for the Jamshedpur FC. He had a golden opportunity to score for his side, but his poor touch was easily thwarted by Paul Rachubka. Not only had he been unable to duly convert that, he was a total disappoint in the game, as he had not even made a scanty impact, and this forced Steve to bring Farukh on for him.
