MDFA 3rd Division: RCF Boys and Bassiem United score victories
After going a goal down early in the game, Bassiem United scored a brilliant comeback victory courtesy Aldridge Picardo’s braces.
Day seven of MDFA 3rd division opened with The Soccer Academy scoring a comfortable win over Miracle FC. Goals on either side of the break from Riyaz Razi and Kush Wadhwa sealed the deal.
Game 1: The Soccer Academy 2 (Kush Wadhwa 28’, Riyaz Razi 50’) – 0 Miracle FC
In the second game, RCF boys trumped Stark FC to win 2-1. RCF boys took an early lead through Pratik Dabak’s 2nd-minute strike but minutes before the break, Stark FC equalised through Tanmay Vetkar. However, Eight minutes into the second half, an own goal from Tanmay Vetkar meant Stark concede the lead as the game ended in RCF Colony boys favour.
Game 2: R.C.F Colony Boys 2 (Pratik Dabak 2’, Tanmay Vetkar 38′ Own goal) – 1 Stark FC (Tanmay Vetkar 25’)
The third game of the day saw Worli SC taking home the win by a solitary goal against FC Mumbaikar. Abhishek Shah’s strike in the 27 minute proved to be the winning goal.
Game 3: FC Mumbaikar 0 – 1 Worli FC (Abhishek Shah 27’)
The final game of the day saw Juhu Beach United concede one goal lead to lose 1-3 against Bassiem United. After Vibhor Sachdev’s 15th-minute strike put Juhu ahead, Aldridge equalised in the 24th minute for Bassiem. After the break, Jagjeet Singh scored in the 40th minute to put Bassiem United in front, three minutes later; Aldridge scored his second of the day as Bassiem completed a brilliant 3-1 comeback.
