MDFA: 2nd & 3rd Division Round-up of 28th March at Xavier’s, Parel
St Xavier’s, Mumbai: Charkop FC held on at Parel in their 2nd Division match while Jeevies and Marouli were held on at Xavier’s in the 3rd Division of the Mumbai District Football Association matches held on 28th March 2017.
2nd Division – Group G
Charkop FC 1-1 Sporting Options
Sporting Options took the lead in the game midway through the first half as Vikram Solkar put the ball past the Charkop keeper. Charkop soon levelled things on the 28th-minute mark Hitesh Pardesi scored a wonderful goal. The game appeared to become rash as the referee produced four yellow cards late on.
3rd Division
Marouli United 1-1 Shelar FC
Marouli United had a great start to the game as their striker Jason D’Souza scored on the 13th-minute mark giving them an early lead. Shelar FC’s Rahul Salian levelled things up on the 45th-minute mark. Both teams held back after that and the points were shared as the game ended 1-1.
3rd Division
Jeevies 1-1 Kapadia Nagar
The game was an open one until Kapadia Nagar scored as Saquib dribbled through the Jeevies defence and put the ball in the back of the net. Jeevies equalised later in the game which was a blow to the Kapadia Nagar’s hopes of getting the three points.
