MDFA’s new Format on Women’s League promises development

Women's League

Women’s football is one of the fastest growing sport in the world, one that attracts more attention, especially because it breaks the stereotype and the conventional ways football had been running worldwide and offers an equal opportunity for women to create their own identity on the merits of their performance solely.

Indian women’s football has already proven their metal on FIFA ranking board where Indian National Team of Men stands at 130 through their recent achievements, Indian National Team of Women possesses 54th rank.

However, there are still a lot many gaps to be filled in order to provide a better platform for girls, one that lasts longer than the usual monthly league at the same time increase the number of teams and players.

For the first time in the history of MDFA, the sole governing body of Football for the Mumbai City and its suburbs has come up with a new league format in alliance with Mumbai City FC and Sporting Lions Foundation.
