Senior Girls
Father Agnel Multipurpose School and Junior College vs HR College of Commerce and Economics
The senior girls of Fr. Agnel School rendered the first final of the day a completely one-sided affair, cruising to a 11-0 victory over HR College. The architect of this handsome win was Fr. Agnel School’s star player Akanksha Kandalkar, who creamed four goals in the match. Her brilliant performance right through the tournament and in the final earned her the player of the match award, the golden boot and golden ball. Fr. Agnel goalkeeper, Ankita Shinde won the golden glove.
Father Agnel School girls had come in with a ruthless attack strategy. They began to deal body blows to their opponents before they could ease their way on the field. Akanksha began the massacre in the second minute of the game, and in the first seven minutes Fr. Agnel had scored three goals.
The frequency with which the ball landed into the HR College post left the score keepers working overtime. At the half-time whistle, Fr. Agnel had a 6-0 lead.
While Akanksha struck the post four times, Mamta Acharya got her hattrick in the 57th minute. Their final goal came in the penultimate minute when Pooja Dhamal took the perfect penalty kick.
