Inspired by Jay Bhavnani, Kenkre FC defeat FSI (Thane) in U-16 Youth League

On 6th November 2016, Kenkre FC faced Football School of India (Thane) in an away match at Father Agnels, Vashi in Under-16 Youth League Maharashtra Zone. Kenkre produced an impressive performance to edge out the host 2-1 in a tight contest.

Kenkre FC had previously defeated Reliance Youth Football Club (RYFC) 3-0 and Football School of India to start their campaign on a winning note, and they successfully managed to emulate the same performance to overcome Football School of India yesterday.

It was Jay Bhavnani once again who proved to be the protagonist for Kenkre FC as the forward scored twice, one which turned out to be the winning goal. Jay broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute only to see Kamran Siddiqui scoring the equalizer for Football School of India (Thane) in the 67th minute.

Just when the match was headed towards a cagey draw, Jay snatched all three points for Kenkre after scoring the winner from the spot with only seven minutes left on the clock. Jay has now scored five goals against Football School of India (Thane) in just two games as he previously notched up a fine hat-trick.

Kenkre FC made a promising start and kept controlling the match proceedings for the majority of the game. FSI managed well to keep Kenkre FC at bay after defending well for throughout the first-half.

The deadlock was finally broken when Jay scored a brilliant goal to break FSI’s resilience to give Kenkre FC a vital lead. FSI replied with an equalizer when Kamran Siddiqui scored past Kenkre’s goalkeeper William Chettiar in the 67th minute.

FSI thought they had salvaged a vital point but there was more twist in the tale. Kenkre FC was awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute, Jay stepped up and made it 2-1 for Kenkre FC with a sublime penalty to win it for his side.
