Nelson Pereira’s twin strikes for Vailankanni Boys sinks Bombay FC
On 4th November 2016, Vailankanni Boys produced a determined performance to nail down Bombay FC 3-1 in the Group A clash of MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) First Division at St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel.
Nelson Pereira scored twice, whereas, Gaurang Chauhan scored the third goal to register a vital victory for Vailankanni Boys. Derrick Santos, meanwhile, scored the lone goal for Bombay FC.
The match started on a positive note for both the sides. It took Vailankanni Boys just six minutes to open the scoring when Nelson Pereira scored a brilliant goal past Bombay FC’s goalkeeper to sent his side in front.
Five minutes later, Nelson made it 2-0 after scoring from distance which gave Vailankanni Boys a dream start. Bombay FC’s backline was left out clueless by Nelson as he punished them with his two brilliant goals.
Bombay FC pulled one back a few minutes later when Derrick Santos powerful shot proved too good for Vailankanni Boys’ goalkeeper as he only managed to see Derrick’s shot going past him.
Vailankanni Boys’ finally managed to put the tie to bed when Gaurang Chauhan scored the final and third goal to register a hard-fought victory against Bombay FC.
